What I don't get is that these lip-syncs all happened as each queen was sent home, assuming they had a small amount of time to get into drag and get onto the stage. You're not telling me Silky just so happened to bring with her a half-and-half costume for a potential Barbie Girl lip-sync that she totally didn't know would be happening...?

 

She really did do well in some of the lip-syncs she won and it's good to see her getting that redemption, but come on.

The only queen that lipsynced immediately was Eureka! If you watch back the episode you can tell from Ru’s look/ guest judges that each queen each had at least a whole episode to prepare for the lipsync!

I also don’t quite get why they had Charli for 2 lip syncs? This means it was during one episode and they did Pandora v Silky and Eureka v Silky all in a row right after Eureka was eliminated?

The queens get the lipsync songs as well as runway themes at the start of a season, so they prepare the songs but I assume don't know when they will need each song exactly, perhaps until the day before a challenge or something. In this case it seems they had a whole episode to prepare, I think that makes sense given that Jan and Scarlet for example had outfits that really fit the songs they had, then Silky had her guitar prop for Heartbreaker and the Barbie Girl half and half look. They all had the same chance to prepare, logistically idk how it worked, like do queens just bring random stuff for a song they might not have to lipsync to? :lol: I assume they just vibe with certain songs more, have some ideas and hope that they get to lipsync to them maybe.

 

If Eureka did THAT straight away with no/not much prep... let her back and give her that crown tbh

You also have to remember that the episodes are basically all filmed within a few weeks. Everything Silky prepped for the lip syncs was either in her suitcase from the start or she made it with things at hand. It's not as if she got to go home and come back each time with new stuff.

 

I'm sure the queens would get some time to prep for each lip sync too. They just edit it to make it look like they have a short time to get ready.

 

I just think Silky was better prepared than most. I'm glad to see her getting such a great rudemption. She's been tipped over $10,000 from fans since the episode aired!

Tbh now that I think about it, all of her props were at least original and not done to death. Fashion could have been better though. That green dress. Oh god, one of the worst things worn on stage in a long ass time (paper bag dress is safe ofc)

I am curious how she prepared for the Barbie/Ken look. The only thing I can think is that either a) she prepared it specifically in case she would have to be top 2/top All Star for Barbie Girl - because they know the lipsyncs in advance - and she knew she would have enough time to change for the lipsync for the win from what she'd worn in the episode, or - b) it was her Best Drag look that presumably they'll have for the final runway.

 

Or there's a Ball for the final episode like in S13 and there was a Doll theme or a Twins theme as one of the categories.
