August 20, 20215 yr 26 | | 1st week Doja Cat Woman Album track from Planet Her Released: 25th June 2021 Label: Kemosabe Records / RCA Records Chart Statistics NE (26/08/2021) | 26 Sales: 40k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio __ Sales 56 Audio Streaming 54 Video Streaming Video 2V_uAAAH-_Q Biography Some call the end of summer the “slow news season”—school's still out, holidays are in full swing, and headlines tend to get weird—and Doja Cat (born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini in 1995) knew just what to do about it. In August of 2018, the Los Angeles singer and rapper dropped “Mooo!”, a sultry R&B jam, thick with double entendres and sung from the perspective of a cow. It went viral, thanks to an unforgettable, improbably catchy chorus that had people wondering: Could she possibly be for real? But Doja, who released her debut EP, Purrr!, in 2014, and her first album, Amala, in 2018, was no novelty act. In the years since, she has proven herself one of pop music’s savviest, most audacious characters. She raps nimbly, switching up her cadence from one syllable to the next, and her pop-culture nods (referencing actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry or sampling blink-182 and Paul Anka) are just as unpredictable as her dizzying flow. Her presentation is both tough and coquettish. As she demonstrated over and over on her 2019 album, Hot Pink, she assumes a fun and fundamentally empowered stance in her singing and rapping about sex. And woe to anyone who might take issue with that: “Sex is meaningful, it is!” she told Apple Music, with her trademark defiant charm. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2019 80 Juicy (Doja Cat & Tyga) -1- 2020 02 Say So -2- MILLIONAIRE 2020 24 Boss Bitch -OST- 2020 62 Like That (feat. August 20, 20215 yr Love "Woman" One of the best off of the album, hopefully Get Into It (Yuh) can join next week too!
August 20, 20215 yr I just noticed that Levitating has been knocked out the top 40. Or it's still to come? (Sincerely hope not but at least they're playing the non-remixed version now)
August 20, 20215 yr Is Women gonna be her next single? I swear Scott said it’s the next single from the album?
August 20, 20215 yr Is Women gonna be her next single? I swear Scott said it’s the next single from the album? Surely it'd make more sense to go with Need To Know? But who knows, it's a bit of a mess at the moment. I think she/her team expected "You Right" to be bigger than it was.
August 20, 20215 yr 25 | 24 | 13th week Anne-Marie and Niall Horan Our Song 2nd single from Therapy Released: 21st May 2021 Label: Major Toms / Asylum Records Chart Statistics NE (03/06/2021) | 22-26-22-18-13-13-16-18-17-20-21-24-25 Sales: 200k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 02 Sales 24 Audio Streaming 32 Video Streaming Video 2Z8L4Qed8F8 Biography Anne-Marie Anne-Marie’s bold, booming voice has resonated around the world, both as a consummate dance-music collaborator and a brassy pop powerhouse. Born Anne-Marie Nicholson in Essex in 1991, the singer/songwriter never thought she’d make it far beyond her small village, but she was already making waves in London as a child, performing in prestigious West End theatre productions and becoming a karate world champion. Such ambitions undoubtedly helped prepare her for major festival stages—which she’d soon dominate as a rising vocalist in the electronic music world. After being discovered by Elton John’s management company, Rocket Music, in 2013, Anne-Marie lent her skyscraping vocals to tracks by dubstep/DJ supergroup Magnetic Man, garage duo Gorgon City and drum ‘n’ bass hitmakers Rudimental, who invited her to guest on their 2015 album We the Generation and join their extensive world tour. Going forward, she’s been a go-to vocalist and songwriter, pairing up with artists like Snakehips, James Arthur, Nick Jonas, David Guetta and Lauv. But her biggest breakthrough came in 2016 with Clean Bandit, whose single “Rockabye” with dancehall superstar Sean Paul became a multi-platinum global smash, largely thanks to Anne-Marie’s honeyed croons and playful lyrics, which offer an empowering twist on single motherhood. Since releasing her 2018 debut album, Speak Your Mind, the singer has been building up an enviable catalogue of self-love odes (“Perfect to Me”), sassy club bangers (Marshmello collab “FRIENDS”), nostalgic pop love songs (“2002”, co-written with Ed Sheeran) and throbbing coming-of-age anthems (the Doja Cat-featuring “To Be Young”). Even as a solo star, she continues to have no qualms about sharing the spotlight. “I just think collaborations are beautiful,” she told Apple Music. “I don’t think collaborations will ever stop with me.” - Apple Music Niall Horan If you want to see something sweet, have a look back at Niall Horan’s 2010 audition for the The X Factor. The swoop of bleached hair, the boyish jitters, the idea that he was gonna become the Irish Justin Bieber and it was all—going—to—start—today. Of course, things worked out a little differently, but if teaming up with a few other contestant runoffs and starting a group—One Direction—that went on to break Beatles-level records is your consolation prize, you probably came out okay. Not that Horan had a lot of time to think about it. “When it was happening, it was like we were in our own little bubble and everyone else was outside it,” he told Apple Music on the occasion of his second solo album, 2020’s Heartbreak Weather. “I didn’t realize the phenomenon. Like, apart from the fact that we played to 60,000 people every night.” Born in Westmeath, Ireland in 1993, Horan grew up listening to stuff like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young—influences not immediately apparent in One Direction but that surfaced in his solo career. His first album, 2017’s Flicker, didn’t cling to youth. If anything, Horan—like Ed Sheeran—proved himself one of those artists capable of riding the divide between a teenage audience and a decidedly adult one, crafting earnest, uplifting folk-pop with a slight modern shimmer. Heartbreak Weather took the sound a step further, incorporating soul, dance, and classic pop-rock. Not that he’s aiming for cool. If anything, what makes Horan appealing is that he feels more like an Everyman than a rockstar—the boy from around the way who made good. Good thing he didn’t win after all. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Anne-Marie 2015 67 Rumour Mill (Rudimental feat. Born David Orobosa Omoregie in Brixton, London in 1998, Dave suddenly implanted himself in the UK rap scene in 2016, first with the electric grime alliance “Thiago Silva” with AJ Tracey and then when Drake jumped on the remix of the velvety “Wanna Know” from Dave’s first EP, Six Paths. Rebuffing label advances to pursue his career independently, he demonstrated a self-reliant streak on releases such as his 2017 EP Game Over, whose “Question Time,” a scathing attack on Theresa May’s Conservative government, garnered him an Ivor Novello songwriting award. Dave’s full-length debut, the Mercury Prize winner Psychodrama, followed in 2019; epitomizing his achingly honest rap style, it laid bare personal vulnerabilities while challenging institutional racism in a provocative fashion rarely heard in British rap. The centerpiece of the lavishly soundscaped album was “Black,” a heart-wrenching portrait of the prejudice affronting Black lives. At the 2020 BRIT Awards, where Psychodrama won Album of the Year, Dave started his performance of “Black” by accompanying himself on piano and ended it by excoriating British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as a “real racist” and executing a perfect mic drop. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2017 51 Wanna Know (feat. August 20, 20215 yr 23 | 28 | 7th week Sigala and Rita Ora You For Me 4th single from forthcoming studio album Released: 2nd July 2021 Label: Ministry of Sound Chart Statistics NE (15/07/2021) | 55-53-37-33-29-28-23 Sales: 60k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 18 Sales 45 Audio Streaming __ Video Streaming Video drzHwf4X_b0 Biography Sigala The Norfolk DJ and producer behind a string of house-pop hits in the 2010s, Sigala makes music that’s irresistible due to its joy and exuberance. His flair for songs full of sunny melodies and big energy reflects his solid grounding in soul, funk and pop gained while growing up and playing keyboards in teenage bands in Norwich (where he was born Bruce Fielder in 1992). He discovered his love of engineering and producing while messing about in a makeshift studio he built with a friend. His first chance to show off his playful sensibility was with his 2015 debut, “Easy Love”, on which he memorably repurposed the squeaky voice of the young Michael Jackson from the Jackson 5’s “ABC” into a piece of shiny dance pop. A No. 1 single, it sent Sigala up the ranks of festival DJs and Las Vegas club headliners. On later hits like 2016’s “Ain’t Giving Up” with Craig David and 2017’s “Came Here for Love” with Ella Eyre—both of which featured on his 2018 debut album, Brighter Days—Sigala reached further heights of pleasure and positivity by combining an eminently modern and tropical feel with old-school elements of disco and ‘90s house. A collaboration with The X Factor winner James Arthur, Sigala’s 2020 single “Lasting Lover” saw him build something fun and unique with the help of another borrowed hook: MGMT’s “Time to Pretend”. - Apple Music Rita Ora On early singles like “Hot Right Now” with DJ Fresh and her own 2012 smash “How We Do (Party)”, Rita Ora exudes the headstrong confidence and swagger of an artist who knows exactly what she’s about. She also knows what she can do with a voice that fits just as well with lovelorn ballads as it does with full tilt party-starters. That combination of positivity and versatility has helped make Ora—born Rita Sahatçiu in Prishtina in the former Yugoslavia, in 1990—one of the most successful British female solo artists ever. And even though her troubles with her first record label led to a long delay for the follow-up to her 2012 debut Ora, she filled the gap with feature appearances on tracks by Iggy Azalea, Charli XCX and Avicii, along with a stream of UK Top 10 singles such as the dreamy “Anywhere” and “For You”, a duet with Liam Payne for the soundtrack of Fifty Shades Freed. (Her role in the steamy screen franchise as Christian Grey’s sister gave her another chance to show off her glamorous side.) In 2018, Ora released Phoenix, an apt title given her determination to survive any storm and come out sounding as fierce and forthright as ever. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Sigala 2015 01 Easy Love -1- MILLIONAIRE 2015 03 Sweet Lovin' (feat.
