Gold Forever (Total: 295,461)

In 2011 it sold 231,200 copies, so evidently it's been quite a slow seller since then.

In the most recent chart week it added 7,894 to its total (5,167 streaming, 2,725 downloads, 2 physicals). Obviously streaming was halved for the official chart. 2,583 streaming + 2,727 pure = 5,310 sales to place at #82.

The previous week, it sold 3,125 (without ACR applied). So on 25th March its total stood at 284,442, and 1st April it was 287,567.

Stayed at #2 in both the Sales chart and the Download chart.

Glad You Came (Total: 1,123,238)

This has done really well for them in the streaming era! Its total sales were 496,100 in 2011. It certified Platinum (600k) on 4th July 2014. So its increased by 523k in 7 years and 9 months.

In the latest chart it sold 7,170 (without ACR applied; 6,556 streaming, 614 downloads). Converted to ACR, its weekly sale would have been 3,892. The #100 sold 4,654, so it was 762 sales away from re-entering.

In the previous week, it sold 4,708 (without ACR applied).

Hard to know what its usual weekly sales are like, but I wouldn't be surprised if Glad You Came is 2xPlatinum no later than some time in 2023.

Climbed to #22 in the Download chart and #23 in the Sales chart.

Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits (Total: 31,457)

3,007 sales at #22 included: (2,111 - streaming / 612 - CDs / 190 - downloads / 63 - vinyl / 31 - cassettes). 36 sales behind the Top 20.

It entered the Streaming chart for the first time at #29.

Up to #14 in the Download chart.

Up to #10 in the Sales chart.

Also up to #10 in the Physical chart.

------------------------------------------------------------

The Wanted [Debut album] (Total: 534,210)

1,288 sales at #98. It sold 492 in the previous week.

1,261 of the sales were streaming, as well as 18 downloads and 9 CDs.

New at #88 in the Streaming chart.

It sold 278,600 in its release year of 2010. By the end of 2011 its total had risen to 453,800.

------------------------------------------------------------

The Wanted EP (Total: 2,847)

1,247 sales, a new entry at #106. 33 sales behind the Top 100. 1,246 sales were streaming, just 1 download.

New at #89 in the Streaming chart.

This means that its total before this week was exactly 1,600. Considering it's been out for 10 years, it must mean that hardly any streaming sales have gone towards it before now. I sometimes don't understand OCC's streaming methodology. Even with an increase in people listening to The Wanted, I'm wondering why so much streaming sales suddenly went towards this EP, considering that they have a Greatest Hits.

------------------------------------------------------------

I still find it curious that there was no sign of their albums Battleground / Word of Mouth. Before this week I would have assumed that these albums would generate better streaming sales than their debut album does. Shrug!

P.S. All Time Low - #58 in the Download chart, #59 in the Sales chart.

Honestly, I think it all depends on what OCC are paying attention to at the moment, which is usually their current release. Add that The Wanted EP was really a US based effort which probably means that OCC just ignored it's existence until this week when a lot of people probably did stream it specificially because it works as a condensed greatest hits.

Great that the greatest hits stayed top 100, I didnt expect it. I was reading about Tom's funeral, loved some of the stories from his wife and also group members highlighting his character and how much he loved life. Life really can be so cruel sometimes, he was such a young man with so much to live for,, it's so heartbreaking.
Jay, how do you find those information? I need some info for Westlife of course :)

Tom’s funeral was yesterday. Terribly sad to see his band members carrying his coffin :(

Following the recent tragic passing of Tom Parker, Gold Forever (for Tom) has been created.

This originally was borne from a request of Tom’s family to play Gold Forever at his memorial. The Wanted decided to create a special version and Gold Forever (for Tom) was produced.

The track was played at the memorial and the band posted it the same night so the fans could hear it. The reaction from them was so warm and positive, that at the request of the fans, Gold Forever ( for Tom) is now being made available for them to download and keep in memory of him.

The Wanted, Island Records, writers & producers will be donating all net proceeds* to The Brain Tumour Charity, a UK-based charity dedicated to funding research, raising awareness and providing support and information to people with brain tumours.

More information on the charity can be found here: https://thebraintumourcharity.org

#1 on iTunes right now. It’s a lovely version of a song that has become so poignant :(

I thought the lyrics would be slightly altered to interpolate the tribute to him but it still remains a great song

I'm glad they've released this.

It appears to basically be the original track with the instrumental replaced with an orchestral version.

I don't think it's a re-recording.

Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits

Chart Run: 8-118-181-out-181-149-148-out-188-out-102-22-84-120...

Latest total: 34,020

On Monday it was midweek #108.

Vocals sound like they showing some age in the 'For Tom' version... should have re-recorded them. The version also sounds "too polished" for an acoustic tribute kind of purpose (dunno how you word it).

With gold forever doing well the greatest hits might sneak back into the top 100 in time for friday.

Gold Forever really is a stunning song lyrically. It really is like Tom is singing to the group and vice versa.
