Biography

The world didn’t know how much it needed a Swedish Beatles until ABBA came along. With keyboardist Benny Andersson and guitarist Björn Ulvaeus as the songwriting geniuses and Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog providing the vocal power, ABBA turned pure pop into high art, becoming one of the biggest groups on the planet. Before forming in Stockholm in 1972, Anni-Frid and Agnetha had been successful solo artists in Sweden, while Björn and Benny had been working as a duo; they became two married pairs as well as musical partners. The title track from their second album, 1974’s Waterloo, won the Eurovision song contest that year and became an international smash, introducing the world to ABBA’s seamless, epic production style (Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound taken to a celestial level), soaring melodies, and earworm hooks. ABBA owned the rest of the ’70s, scoring with blockbusters like the aching power ballad “Fernando,” the disco anthem “Dancing Queen,” and the sophisticated tapestry “Take a Chance on Me,” racking up multiplatinum sales, monopolizing pop radio worldwide, and becoming the mainstream pop stars it was cool for rockers (even Elvis Costello) to love. By the time of their final album, 1981’s The Visitors, both couples had broken up, and their formerly cheery tunes took a darker turn musically and lyrically. After 1982 they didn’t perform together again until a one-off at a party in 2016. Later, tantalizing announcements of new material in the works began. But as fans endured the wait, the theater and movie musical Mamma Mia! and the undying popularity of ABBA’s classics guaranteed them a continued place in pop culture. - Apple Music

NO! I thought the ABBA tracks were a lock for the top 10!
Looks like ABBA is out of the top 10 with the missing data?! if this one is as low as 14!
Memories of 1975 - Too Shy here. One of my favourite songs of the year is released on a super-busy week so only peaks at #14!

Edited by rio309

Oh 14, that’s a big drop from the mids. Such a beautiful song <3

I guess going top 15 even is such a huge achievement for a band in their 70s in the streaming era.

Drake No 1 album. ABBA missing the top 10. What a terrible chart week so far
This is first song of ABBA to make 11-20 region.

The other song was doing double this one on streams by end of the week.

Pleased R1 have played this in full (at least a full radio edit) despite it missing Top 10

Biography

When singer-songwriter Billie Eilish feels something new, the first thing she does is take out her phone and write it down. “You can write anything,” she told Apple Music in an interview for the Up Next series. “You can say the truth, and you can not tell anyone that it’s the truth—you can just write it, and it’ll be yours.” Raised and homeschooled in Los Angeles by actor/musician parents, Eilish (born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell in 2001) started writing songs when she was around 11, exploring a strain of melancholy, minimal and slightly surrealistic pop influenced as much by Lana Del Rey as the radical honesty of rappers like Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. Writing and recording with her brother—and producer—Finneas O’Connell at their parents’ house, Eilish released dont smile at me in 2017, followed by an ever-evolving series of singles—a prime example of the fact that, in the streaming era, artists are now free to move directly from their bedrooms into the spotlight. Despite the attention, Eilish is doing her best to stake out a space of freedom and fluidity, expanding her range of collaborators (Vince Staples, Khalid) and dodging easy definition. “If people think I have a sound, if people are like, ‘Oh yeah, her sound is this,’ if someone asks you what my sound is and you have an answer for them—you’re wrong,” she told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “Instead of trying to find a sound, when I want to make something and when I have an idea of what I want to make, I’m just going to make that.” - Apple Music

Biography

Few artists have had as deep an impact on pop culture as Kanye West. Raised in Chicago by his mother, an English professor, West (born in 1977) initially studied to be a painter while making beats on the side—a multidisciplinary drive that came to mark his career. After contributing production to a series of increasingly high-profile projects (including work with Foxy Brown and the Mase-fronted Harlem World), West broke through in 2001 with his work on JAY-Z’s The Blueprint, producing and cowriting some of the album’s biggest songs (“Izzo [H.O.V.A.]”, “Takeover”). His chopped-and-pitched, sample-heavy “chipmunk soul” sound would define rap for years after.

He launched his MC career with 2004’s The College Dropout and hasn’t looked back, releasing a string of groundbreaking—and often self-contradicting—albums, each of them a pacesetter for the culture around it. From the baroque grandeur of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy to the punk fragments of Yeezus, from the social commentary of The College Dropout to the confessional summits of 808s & Heartbreak, West has always been at the leading edge, tirelessly expanding his scope and sound—and shifting everyone else’s playing field in the process. Much of that comes from his gift for listening, for orchestrating: Over the course of his career, he has absorbed sounds and styles from the underground—whether Chicago drill, UK bass music, or Bon Iver’s postmodern folk—and reimagined them, changing the course of the mainstream along the way. An outspoken figure (to say the least), West has shattered countless stereotypes about who rappers are and what they do, taking stances against homophobia and gangster posturing, offering multidimensional portraits of women and some bracingly reductive ones, advancing social causes one minute and declaring himself a god the next, controversially getting the attention of not one but three sitting presidents, and playing both the face and the heel.

His vision hasn’t stopped at music. Always interested in fashion, West has designed for Nike, Louis Vuitton and Adidas, as well as his own Yeezy Season line, reconciling the utility of streetwear with the playful tangents of haute couture. He’s also dabbled in sculpture (the infamous silicone figures from 2016’s “Famous” video), as well as announced his intention to move into architecture and prefabricated home design (Yeezy Home). Even when his experiments don’t quite land (in 2018, he claimed he was writing a philosophy book in real time on Twitter), there’s an ambition—and audacity—in West’s work that feels hard to deny. What we’re left with isn’t just a strong back catalogue, but a seismic shift: the evolution of hip-hop into high art. - Apple Music

The other one was streaming a lot better so I'm confident it can make it.

Stupid glass animals above ABBA

What a stupid comment to be honest, like if it was their fault
