That's still higher than any other song has done in a day, bar Christmas songs, 3 Lions, and a few of the combined totals for Shape Of You (the original peaked at 1.32m).

 

Lots of her other songs rebound: WWWY #8, SLY #11, LITD #12 and there are even new peaks for RITD at #15 and All I Ask at #35.

Yeah considering she’s done 1.3 mill on a Sunday which is the lowest day for streams, I’m expecting she can do 1.5 mill + tomorrow

We'll never see the back of that song - it's been bobbing in and out the top 40 for the entirety of the year and will no doubt do the same again once Christmas is over.
GRACEY doing well with "Sad Song" is so good to see! Hope it can get some support on Spotify and become somewhat of a hit for her!

Surely everyone has listened to Mr Brightside enough by now and needs a break from it. Or is it just charting so well because it is track 1 in a lot of really popular spotify playlists, I dont really use spotify so I dont know how many popular playlists it is in and whether its track 1 in most of them?

It's probably not necessarily people spamming the song, but it's a song that's reached such a critical mass that everyone's occasional listens get it into the chart at its height, it has a much wider audience than the 2021 releases that it's rubbing shoulders with. You also notice a reverse effect with Spotify Wrapped, where it (and other similar such situations like "Someone You Loved") don't get near as much of a rebound as other songs despite technically being among the biggest hits of the year. Because relatively much less people will find it among their most played songs of the year.

 

So the recipe is that people aren't really getting sick of it any time soon.

Russ Millions is teasing the inevitable remix for '6:30' now, posting a snippet of a Loski verse on Instagram. I don't think the full line-up is confirmed but if it turns out to be the one from this tweet it doesn't look like one that would be an obvious smash, Loski is the biggest name there and he's still not really that big (which is a shame as he's one of the more consistently enjoyable drill rappers for me, hope he'll get a top 40 hit one of these days but even a Stormzy collab couldn't get him there). Remains to be seen if there's an ArrDee-esque viral moment from it I guess but again doesn't look too likely if that is the line-up. Should help it go top 40 at least though.

Also Sam Fender's new songs sound very The Killers-esque in style I must say, so maybe people are reminded of the Killers by Sam Fender's recent success and then play Mr Brightside again, so that now it is back top 40 on spotify.

I know Apple Music have a indie playlist with the big new tracks and some older ones too so this could be happening!

I’ll be honest, I don’t think Sam Fender has had much impact on that. Mr. Brightside has been in and around the top 40 on Spotify all year pretty much.

 

As of the end of September it was the 24th most streamed track on Spotify this year in the UK
