October 1, 20214 yr Author 4 new entries!! What a piss poor update. I'm actually surprised to see Yungblud, Lorde and Pink Pantheress all kicked off the playlist after such short stints on the A-list. They should have kicked off the Shawn Mendes flop instead! The Lathums making their playlist debut, I really need to check them out.
October 1, 20214 yr Remi Wolf! *.* her new tracks have all been bangers especially Guerrilla and Quiet On Set, her album's shaping up to be a good one also Soft Spot is a great PinkPantheress-esque light D&B tune, one of the highlights in BJSC this month
October 1, 20214 yr I do wish they added Nathan Dawe I expect they will. What's the hurry? It's probably got an impact date of early November so plenty of time. Nothing much of interest to me this week. Good to see Ewan McVicar moving up to B List. :)

October 1, 20214 yr Apart from Shawn Mendes, there’s no other songs on there that seem like they’ve overstayed their welcome so I’m not sure what else they could have removed. Saying that, the tracks that have been added aren’t at all interesting, although having just listened to them, I quite enjoyed the Remi Wolf song. Not sure why they’re not adding Elton/Dua considering it’s been Greg’s Tune of the Week, meaning that they’re not against supporting it. Hopefully Tom Grennan, Fred Again and Blossoms all move up next week and it would be nice to see Glass Animals on the A List too although I think it might be too late for that now.

Elton being 74 years old may have something to do with it. -_- but it's not like the song needs the R1 playlisting to be a hit anyhow at least.

October 1, 20214 yr Radio 1 will not be playlisting Cold Heart at any point due to Elton's age and longevity. The fact it features Dua Lipa and is doing very well on streaming make no difference. Lennon and Harrison could rise from the dead and record a brand new Beatles track and R1 would say "It's not what our listeners want to hear." More positive to see Love Nwantiti added.
October 1, 20214 yr Author I agree it's unlikely they'll playlist 'Cold Heart' but I don't think it's completely out of the question - they did playlist Paul McCartney as recently as 2015 when he featured on 'FourFiveSeconds' (although admittedly he didn't sing any main vocals on that). October 1, 20214 yr I would have been surprised to see them add it until a couple of weeks ago when Greg started playing it - I think with the Tune’s of the Week they get to pick a particular song from a list provided. So I’d imagine radio 1 have at least thought about playlisting it!
