Who've you got your money on, Rich? I keep being tempted to throw a bunch of money on LadBaby (he's now as high as 6/5), but then I tell myself Ed and Elton will definitely do it. I dunno. :drama:

I'm not sure actually, it's unwise to rule out Ed as chartwise he knows how to play the market to get the desired outcome most of the time, whether that's signed CDs, promo slots or whatever I reckon him and Elton will be everywhere that week.

But I think a good, close battle would increase sales for both of them anyway so it's a win/win, and LadBaby know what they're doing too so I can see them ramping up the signed CDs too and the video going viral etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ed/Elton proceeds end up going to some charity too ultimately, as that would help their cause further - the media are likely to be all over this battle if it materialises as we expect, and the public will side with a charity record.

I just tried to pre-order "Little Things" and the pre-order has sold out. Maybe they should be releasing it Dec 10, not Dec 3 going by that

Tbh I really don't think the Ed/Elton song is going to get to #1, it's clear now that Ed is post his imperial phase and there's been no sign of any interest in actual new Elton John music (the only songs he's charted recently were remakes of old songs, the other singles from 'The Lockdown Sessions' did absolutely nothing). And new Christmas songs just do not have a good track record this century.

LadBaby will walk it if they release, if not I think it'll probably just still be Adele.

bet365 has 7/1 on Adele and even more temptingly 33/1 on Mariah (who I wouldn't rule out either, if the Adele hype has died down enough by then). Do I partake again xx

I don't think Ed is past his imperial phase. His last single spent 11 weeks at No 1 and was knocked off by Adele.

Elton John has a current top 10 hit - Elton John and Ed Sheeran is going to be massive and I think is pretty set for No 1.

Wonder what ‘Easy On Me’ chances are of number one at Xmas now?
I think it is due to go to ACR in the Christmas week unless it has an increase before then (this week not counting of course as this is only week 6) - 'Oh My God' however I think has a decent chance especially if it starts to be pushed more. And if LadBaby don't release.

Apparently, LadBaby IS releasing his year. Ed Sheeran and Elton John are rumoured to be in the music video for it.

Do you have a source for that? Seems odd for them to appear in the music video of a rival single!

The source seems to be The Sun and the Daily Mail lol

I expect it's probably true though. And therefore that's any excitement for this year's Xmas #1 over.

Zero. I still think Ed and Elton can beat Ladbaby.

no chance of that happening. Ladbaby got massive sales last year the likes of which Ed can’t come near to. not to mention Ed won’t want to beat them to number one anyway cos it’d be terrible publicity cockblocking a charity song.

ugh at Ladbaby changing their mind after they previously said last years would be their last one anyhow…

I didn’t really think of ACR tbh probably will come close given it has a high point to fall from with this weeks boost!

Yay for another 1-84-OUT "lol we changed the lyrics to be about sausage rolls again" #1.

I think it might be a new song.. the title is Sausage Rolls for Everyone

Yep I’m expecting a Merry Xmas Everyone rip off

Pastry falling all around us…

I know it's for charity but it's a bit rubbish to ruin the Christmas no.1 every year with complete horsepoo at the top. And to say you not going to do something then do it is very Theresa May election 2017 (although that wasn't a roaring success so who knows).

Was going to see if the Elton/Ed song was for charity but guess the fact that they are appearing in the Ladbaby video indicates probably not...

The title seems to have the write amount of syllables to be jammed in there. :o
