The amount of negativity and entitlement means fans will be lucky to get anything in the future.

The complaining is off the charts ridiculous. You know fans have no grasp of reality when I keep seeing complaints that 'Leader of the gang' isn't on it. Every fan seems to have this idea that if it isn't the exact pics they wanted or the exact tracks (even if those tracks include one by a child abuser) then it is all rubbish.

I'm sure I could find dozens of posts about Step to me being made available on streaming, fans asking and demanding it and here it is but 'the military chant' isn't on it so well it is a load of shit. Or the amount of asking for the live Birmingham gig hasn't been released and they give you 4 new live tracks that relate to Spiceworld the album and it is shit as well.

Then there is the unreleased songs that people are demanding that they don't even know if any actually exists from the Spiceworld recording sessions but they are demanding them any way because they have dreamt them up in their head for years.

Be interesting to see what people purchase and how sales are considering the understanding comments.

The amount of negativity and entitlement means fans will be lucky to get anything in the future.

I have to say, I don't agree with this perspective and it feels unrealistic. I'll explain why.

As fans and as consumers, I don't believe we should ever feel afraid to discuss products in a way that is honest to how we genuinely feel about them. When it comes down to it, the label has come up with a bunch of formats and they want to make a lot of money from them. They'll get the vast majority of the money from fans. Each and every fan has something to consider at this moment. Are these products worth parting with their hard earned cash for? That's a personal decision for us all to make. Whether fans ultimately decide to buy them or not, I think everyone has the right to express what it is that they like or dislike about the products. To say what it is about them that's made them decide not to buy them, for instance, or why they will buy them but explain why they're not totally happy with them. Every opinion is valid.

Feeling that online negativity towards the products could result in us being lucky to get anything else in the future... honestly, I don't think that really comes into the equation. I doubt the people involved in making these items, particularly the label, will care about "the noise" of the online reaction, be it negative or positive. They care about the money they make from it. If Spiceworld 25 performs in a way that at least satisfies them, or pleases them, then they'll definitely be open to creating more products for people to buy in the future. If it underperforms, then possibly not. But I can never see a situation arise where they'd be like "Well fine then, if the fans don't like this, then we won't do anything else!" because that's too unprofessional, too personal and too petty. It's also very guilt trippy.

If some fans feel genuinely grateful for the existence of these upcoming Spice Girls items, then that's great, honestly. However, you can't really force gratefulness en masse, and I don't think it should be an expectation that the fan base must feel grateful, or lucky for what we get. Because these are not free items, and it's not a charitable endeavour. The Spice Girls and the label aren't doing this purely out of the goodness of their hearts. These are products - quite expensive products in all likelihood, and it's a money making exercise. And we'll all choose whether we buy it all, or some of it, or none of it. Whatever we buy or don't buy, I think we all have the right to have open discussions about how we feel about the products, the artwork, the content, our perception on how much effort was put into it, if we think it's truly worth the money, if we're happy with it, if we're not happy with it etc etc.

Personally - yes, I'll buy one of everything. That's how I roll, I'm a collector and a completist, and no matter what they serve up, I feel compelled to buy it. Am I particularly satisifed with the bonus disc? Honestly, no. It's bare minimum and pretty barrel scraping. I think I (or anyone else) can say this, without it being interpreted as being entitled, or feeling that saying this means we'll be lucky to get anything else in the future!!

Jay is absolutely spot on!
Mr I don’t expect everyone to agree just tired of all the negativity. Over and out

Again if we can refrain from personal attacks...

I don't appreciate being accused of having no grasp on reality, and that is one track as an example, another would be We are family which there must be a studio version of or My boy lollipop from the movie too, hell there is probably even a studio version of their duet with Elton John... more than just the same things we already have mixed in with a few live tracks.

I would also appreciate personally if you could not ignore my entire posts which commented on more than just one track in order to suit your narrative thank you.

Oh that wasn't aimed at you but at Spice Circle, it has been said about Leader of the gang far too many times already. If you took it personally that is on you I didn't quote you or mention you in my post.

Pre-ordered the 2cd which was luckily 15 euros cheaper than the Spice25 one was last year and shipping is only 3 euros.

I have nothing to complain about this release, we have Step To Me on streaming, a few live tracks which weren´t released before so i´ll take that. I do get the frustrations from others who hoped to get more but it is what it is and its very frustrating to be a Spice Girls fan at times

Curiously, I cant find any of it on amazon UK or Spain?

There'll be two more pre-release tracks before the album comes out!

October 13: Spice Up Your Life (Live In Arnhem, 1998) [it's cute that this is scheduled for the 25th anniversary of Spice Up Your Life's release]

October 28: Move Over (Live In Istanbul, 1997)

Ordered the 5 format bundle and stressball.

Whatever we think of this release in general I always think back to the barren years 2001-2006, 2009-2015 where absolutely nothing was done with the biggest selling girl groups music at all.

Even things like lyric videos are a huge thing when you look back at the years of just zero effort at all. I know it isn't perfect but we have Step to me, some new live tracks, a new lyric video. So even if you don't feel compelled to buy a physical product enjoy that slowly the girls digital catalogue is growing and it is free to you to watch or listen to if you so desire.

Anyone else adding too much acoustic and spice invaders to this? I am. It’s a shame they couldn’t make it a complete collection

It's obvious why many fans expect them to release unreleased songs. You have Biff dangling them in front of fans for years. Yes, the girls can't control his actions, but it seems they are the closest to him out of all their producers. It sends mixed messages to the fans.

Blaming fans for having expectations is lame. Remember folks, don't ask questions. Just consume product and then get excited for the next product.

Plus, you had Mel C saying that SW25 was gonna be ever bigger and better…and these are what we are getting after being hyped for a year.

Anyway, I’ll just buy on iTunes and buy the CDs by Christmas. And then vinyls and cassettes later when they are on sale. At least, last year they had the five individual vinyl gimmick to drive me to buy them all.

I have to say, I don't agree with this perspective and it feels unrealistic. I'll explain why.

:winner: To all of this, Jay.

There's also an irony that comes along with any fan preaching about other fans feeling "entitled" for wanting more, when those same fans not-so-secretly have what we want, and what we know exists. :rap:

I’ve ordered the CD and the double LP £65 in total, think that’s as much as i’m willing to spend

Funny that you pointed out leader of the gang and the live in Birmingham both things I said in my post. It’s really not “on me” it’s your rude choice of language since it is clearly also about me since I also said it. That is on you.
