Will the CD delay affect the chart position?

Yes... I am not confident it will go Top20 at this rate to be honest with you...

I do hope they change the track list. It really isn’t too late if there are errors in printing.

They wont as it would take months to sort out new licensing, designs, etc.

The best they could do right now would be to delay everything until the CD printing is done. Then release it all together.

Nothing will change, the CD is just delayed for a few weeks. It is life happens to many artists these days. If you think you can change a tracklist in a few weeks (that is already on the printed 2 vinyl lp) then you have no idea how long these things take.

It is what it is, hopefully it means 2 weeks top 100 now than 1, which is fine.

Sure there's occasional vinyl delays, but CD is usually the reliable and on time format.

The vinyl is a truncated track list, so that in itself doesn't really reflect on whether the CD's track list could potentially be changed. Though yes I agree it's something that takes time to negotiate and finalise, and with Spice Girls it's probably far longer than most others, considering that apparently every little thing has to be run by and agreed by all 5 of them before it goes ahead. So for less headaches I'm sure it's not even crossing Universal's minds to think of altering the CD track list in any way.

It kind of bothers me thinking about what specifically this "printing error" is, particularly as we'll likely never know. A booklet error, printing quality issues? That didn't stop them issuing Spice 25 with subpar quality images. Wrong audio on the CD?! How did they not do all the necessary checks before commiting to printing it? Delaying the release date and presumably scrapping the first run of pressed CDs - ouch.

Sometimes accidents happen, but how typical that it happens to the Spice Girls. Even if this can't be helped, it's still frustrating.

Something a bit dodgy - even though there's a message about it on their website and in mailers - is that they're not being as transparent about this issue as they probably should be. Spiceworld 25 CD still shows a release date of 4th November on Amazon, HMV, their official store, Recordstore etc. In theory, people ordering it over the past few days may not see that it won't come on 4th November. To be honest, announcing a delay with no clear indication at all of exactly when it will be shipped is pretty bad practice.

I agree, so they should compensate us by releasing a digital-only unheard track (the Viva Forever demo will do thank you!) and delay the whole thing to when the CD is ready :teresa:

This way, we would stop moaning about how poor this era has been, and eat ourselves listening to the unheard track and then they could delay the shipping of all formats to say, January, and get to #5 in the UK charts B-)

It's a win win situation girlies, let's get to it!!

From the way the email and statement is worded it seems to be an error on the printers side. I think they got the CDs back from the printers (now would be the time you expect that) opened them up and saw something wrong with them.

I think if it was an error on their part they would just release it. CDs often getting listed with the wrong tracklist or spelling errors ect. This sounds like more than that on part of the printer.

Have cancelled my order from their website -_- Since the CD has been delayed and i only ordered it and the Double Vinyl, I would rather wait and it is all available and buy it later at a cheaper price... I know it sucks, but damn I am not excited for this release, so I would rather save some bucks since this is nowhere near selling out and I wont have the trouble of missing out on any of it

I went for the bundle of all 5 items ( ) so I'll keep that order going because it was cheaper than purchasing separately + I used a 10% off voucher. I just hope we get some clarity soon on when we can expect the CD to be sent. Surely it will be before Christmas

I got my bundle from https://www.recordstore.co.uk/ which is the same company that hosts the Spice Girls official store. I just hope that they're true to their word, that they definitely will ship the other 4 items on time for release date.

(Honestly I'm a little nervous about the packaging when it comes to placing 3 different vinyl editions and a double cassette in the same box. I'll be gutted if the cassette box smashes, or it presses down onto the vinyl it's on top of and leaves a dent... yes I'm overworrying, but I've been burned so many times before that I just assume the worst will in fact happen  )

I collect their releases have since I was a child so whatever date it comes I want it. Hopefully it will mean Spiceworld gets 2 weeks back in the chart and gives me something extra to look forward to after getting the vinyls and cassette.

Spice 25 was fun but the moment release week was over it all felt very over.

Their latest tiktok video gives facts about SUYL, one of the facts is it was never recorded as a demo. This is defo a fact to those fans saying why was a demo of it not on SW25.

Or maybe that's something they've put out there to try and stop fans asking for demos lol.

I can't help but feel very skeptical about that supposed fact. It's highly unusual to make the leap from writing and recording vocals, to arriving at the very final mix, without any in between stage whatsoever (such as a rough mix).

Of course there's a demo of all the SW tracks. There's no way the girls recorded the songs in one vocal take.

The girls probably didn't want to release any of them because their rough vocals sound like dog poop.

Agreed!

Except ... who is asking for MORE demos!? :nono:

Haven't they punished us enough?

The one demo fans did want (Say You'll Be There with the rap) they didn't release. Go figure.

Agreed, I'd happily buy that demo -- it's the kind of incentive I look for.
