BBC seem to also be doing a lot of content around the girls.

BBC Radio 2 had a whole segment this morning on it, and they have also commissioned quite a few shows on the girls, including shows from high profile people such as Fearn Cotton and Rylan:

My package came earlier this afternoon. Firstly, believe me I don’t actually enjoy being negative about this, I’d love to love these items, but I don’t

The picture disc is truly a nightmare item for me lol. I think it’s the worst thing they’ve ever released. It’s not possible to align it! The disc sits in the sleeve about 1cm lower than it would need to in order to be aligned. It looks horrible to me. The designers apparently forgot to print text on the spine of this item. I would like to forget that this particular item exists. :teresa:

The metallic texture effect on the other two vinyl looks more tacky than it appears digitally. One positive is that the “girls in the letters” images and the globe are good quality. Just a shame about the background choice. The inner sleeves are basic, just white with black text (lyrics and credits). Apart from one side of one the 2LP sleeves which has the same image as the picture disc. Not doing the 2LP as a gatefold is a shame.

The “clear” vinyl is more like a milky colour.

The cassette is cute I guess, mainly for the inner sleeves.

£15 for an A2 poster is scandalous! Most official A1 posters (double the size) retail for less than £5.

If anyone wants to check out my SW25 posts I am posting each song title along with facts and general info on my SGNet Instagram 😊
My bundle arrived minus the CD of course just as I was going out so not had time to open them.

You should have cancelled your plans to stay in and look at your new items #badfan

Judging from reactions he shouldn't cancel anything and enjoy whatever he has planned to make up for the disappointment later

That Christmas jumper is horrendous lol one of the worst Christmas jumpers I have ever seen, tacky and not even in a fun camp Christmas way. Last years was much better in the Christmas jumper brief (even if it was ridiculously overpriced)

Am I the only one that likes the party mix?

I like it and the Stop Morales Mix. I also love the Step To Me Demo a bit more than the standard 7" version, but that's because it's new to me.

That Party Mix is just ok for me. It just has more variety than the GH megamix. I like how the party mix opens with the Morales mix of SUYL but it loses me after that, and, in my opinion, only gets rescued by the Junior Vasquez mix of Wannabe which is one of their best remixes ever according to my ears.

I think the Morales mix of Stop is trash. How the hell does someone manage to suck the energy and fun out of a song like Stop!? Shame on you David Morales. And shame on the label for approving that one.

UK Chart first midweeks are currently #4 with 1770 copies sold -_-

Obviously this doesnt include the CD but such low sales already means it will simply freefall over the week

What were Spice25's first midweeks?

Definitely going to free fall with those few sales. I know I am such a bad fan for this but I am kinda glad, it's what it deserves.

Yes

The party mix has double the views on youtube of any of the album tracks (not singles) since it was uploaded yesterday.

Whenever a solo project doesn’t meet the expectations, I always try to support it no matter what. This is because I’m aware, most of the time, the big issue behind is lack of money or sort of. Then you have people judging the girls and destroying whatever they do as if it was a big deal. Remember: solo project = not much coverage, mostly only fans know.

I’d love to see the same treatment for the brand Spice Girls whenever they do something not worth the wait - considering that, yes, in this case there is a way higher possibility to tarnish their legacy because of the visibility.

So, IMHO, this 25th celebration is p*ss poor. You can see none of them give a damn about it. I hope it flops hard. They need a wake up call.

I wrote this on Spice Circle about the midweek info:

If those sales represents all of the preorders being accounted for already, then… it’s not looking good, unfortunately… 🥺

They’ll need to more than double those sales over the next week to have a chance of even remaining in the Top 20 come Friday.

Sorry to be a pessimist but, unless there’s quite a bit of missing pre-order data, then Top 10 isn’t looking to be achievable. They’d probably need 5000+ sales for the week to stay Top 10.

I looked back at all the Spice 25 midweek info:

Sat 30/10 - #3 - 5,223

Sun 31/10 - #3 - 5,782

Mon 1/11 - #3 - 6,083

Tues 2/11 - #3 - 7,012

Wed 3/11 - #4 - 7,243

Thurs 4/11 - #4 - 7,523

Fri 5/11 - #5 - 7,798

After the Saturday midweek, Spice 25 sold 2,575 copies in 6 days.

Daily sales increases:

Sun: +559

Mon: +301

Tues: +929

Wed: +231

Thurs: +280

Fri: +275

Spiceworld 25 starts off with 34% of the sales that Spice 25 achieved by Saturday’s midweek. Spiceworld 25 has 4 physical formats available and Spice 25 had 12, so it’s interesting that 1/3rd of the formats = 1/3rd of the sales.

If the 1/3rd sales continued and it ultimately sold a third of Spice 25’s full week, that would be 2,600 copies and that would only be enough for low Top 40.

We’ll have to wait and see what the next few days hold, for all we know not all preorders are included so far, I guess by Monday we’ll have a much clearer picture of the likely outcome.

I'm not surprised at all if this is the full picture so far, to be honest, as the campaign has been such a travesty all around... Their lack of promotion (by all of them) and their lack of care on the content and design of this has been apparent, so it is of course very obvious that the fandom wouldn't give a crap either...

They would do well to get Dolby Atmos version live throughout the week, to enhance downloads/streams, but apart from that I don't see what else they can do - other than going on a promo tour which is just not going to happen.

At least with Spice25 they all posted on their social media. This time, Geri and Mel B have dont nothing at all and Mel C and Emma have mentioned it a couple of times but with very little fanfair.

Then, the blacklash at the overall QUALITY of the release. Beyond the crap designs, the actual sound issues are so incredibly bad it is actually embarrassing specially from an official release.

I don't really understand why this lack of focus from them, at all. Maybe they thought cos Spice25 did well, that they didnt have to bother this time?...
