With 465 the maximum points possible we still have 3 voters left who haven't lost a point yet. On the plus side no-one has lost their 30 pointer before the top 100!

After tomorrow only 1 voter will have all 30 entries left!

As per usual- now we are in the top 100 if there are ties on points then songs will be ranked firstly by the number of voters and then by the highest points awarded to it by any 1 particular voter.

Shame The Power Of Love just missed the Top 100 - I’m not generally a power ballad lover but there’s something quite euphoric about that one!

Hello was No 1 when I was born - hopefully I’ve aged better than it.

Anyway pleased my Top 20 are intact.

6 Madonna

3 Kylie

3 Bucks Fizz

All left in the Top 100.

Love to see it.

(and particularly surprised that all 3 Bucks Fizz No.1s are still in :music:)

no surprise at Madonna, more at Kylie since her 80s #1s were kinda meh

Absolutely. Expecting to see some of Madonna's pretty high (Like a Prayer especially).

Yeah... Kylie's early No.1s were not her best, shall we say.

I was generally just surprised at Bucks Fizz results. Though very pleased at the same time.

I'd say all 3 of Kylie's 80s #1 are considerably better remembered than Tears On My Pillow at least, and that only just missed the top 100 in the 90s rate.

Glad to see a fairly even mix of #1 in different years still in the running.

Second from bottom but Still have 9 of my top 10 songs left so it's all good!

Madonna: quite right too :D

Kylie: Esp For You is still sweet, I should Be So Lucky has gained some revamp cred from tours where she does very different versions (much better) as the song is surprisingly strong ignoring the by-numbers-SAW production. Hand On Your Heart, tho...

Not that I voted for any of Kylie's though!

Bucks Fizz have always been under-appreciated, classy, well-written, well-produced songs of their time (plus Making Your Mind Up). I blame the silly name, in the same way that dave dee, dozy, beaky, mick & tich would have got more street cred with a band name like The Vipers :D

I much prefer China In Your Hand in terms of 80s power ballad #1s, glad its still in this contest!

‘China in Your Hand’ is amazing can’t help but run round the room hand in front of you miming when it was No1 on TOTP!

Its the twist that the chorus takes melodically with the 'they may come true and you can't help them' bit that I love about the song.

NO 100- 35 POINTS

True Blue Madonna (Voter: Jason- 17 points, Bjork- 18 points)- No 1 for 1 week in October 1986

NnufCFY.jpg

The first loss of 6 entries and all in the top 100. Also the first points lost for Bjork. I didn’t realise until earlier this year that the version that charted and was played on radio isn’t the version in the video (flop fan).

NO 99- 38 POINTS

Geno Dexy's Midnight Runners (Voter: Rabbitfurcoat- 29 points, Dircadirca- 9 points)- No 1 for 2 weeks in May 1980

And Rabbitfurcoat also loses their first selection immediately after Bjork. Dexy’s still have another entry left.

NO 98- 39 POINTS

Rock Me Amadeus Falco (Voter: Julian T- 9 points, Jackjones- 26 points, Dircadirca- 4 points)- No 1 for 1 week in May 1986

EK143gh.jpg

The first Austrian act to top the UK charts and the first UK No 1 to be sung predominately in German though some lyrics were translated into English for the UK and US release.

If Come On Eileen didn't exist, Geno would be my favourite Dexys song...
