It doesn't get more striking than Steps dancing in canary yellow on the pier in front of the Carlton hotel in Cannes, France!

 

We remastered the classic Love's Got A Hold On My Heart music video in true high definition from the original 16mm film negatives as part of the band's 25th anniversary celebrations.

 

We consulted the original video director Dani Jacobs and delivered a slightly more modern colour grade, staying true to the band's 1999 vision to create a very "poppy" video.

 

The remastered version was premiered on 26 August 2022 so fans could enjoy this pop masterpiece in crystal clear HD.

 

There were lots of unseen moments on the film spools too, so we were able to produce a full choreography performance of the song for the Official Steps YouTube channel.

 

So changing the colour of the sea behind them in the solo shots was deliberate!

Guessing Deeper Shade Of Blue will be close to the last one we get.

 

There's a rumour that we may be getting a full colour version of the music video as a bonus, but who knows if that'll be true.

It will be interesting. If I remember correctly they shot the video with the intention of it being black and white, and as such had to have extra make up on. I wonder if it’ll be noticeable in the colour version.

Agreed! Really beautiful scenery and they look so good. No doubt that the black and white was a stylistic choice, I suppose to portray seriousness - but it looks great in colour! Kind of surreal, it's like seeing it for the first time.

The colour is stunning, probably more so because we are seeing it in such great definition! But I echo what Jay said about the stunning scenery. It was also interesting to watch it having visited Rome now too, it was lovely to see all the destinations we visited while we were there on the screen, great memories.

Echoing what everyone has said. This is great in colour. I agree with you Spice Boy having now been to Rome, even though it was 9 years ago, it was great to see the places I’d been.

Totally agree! Not the biggest fan of the song but the video remains lovely, especially with colour :heart: I’m really happy with the effort they put in uploading these videos.
