Thought it might be interesting to share predictions on what we expect for the first charts in the new year after the old Christmas songs and novelty campaigns are yeeted off the chart for another year.

Seventeen Going Under- It's already made it to the Top 10 but is still proving very stable on streaming, sitting at #7 on Spotify atm and #4 if the three-track rule were applied to Adele. I can see it making the Top 5 in January.

Do It To It- Has been climbing the last few weeks and is projected to go Top 20 this week, I can see this silently increasing its streams behind all the festive stuff and then peaking in the Top 10 in January.

abcdefu- Same with this one, big on TikTok right now and keeps climbing on Spotify, think this is definitely on course to be a Top 10 hit in the new year.

The Motto- Not really much to go on with this one, other than the fact that Tiesto has form for scoring big hits in January that were released at the back end of the previous year and I want it to do well because its a bop lmao.

Hopefully

benson Boone ghost town

Lost Frequencies Calum Scott where are you now

Meduza feat holier tell it to my heart

Tate McRae feel like

Da beatfreakz money is calling

Craig David mnek Who you are

Maybe Jason Derulo

Plus Ed Sheeran bad habits climb agin as record of year kick in January could see drivers license come back

hopefully Tell It To My Heart and The Motto end up being substantial hits in January.

I’m sure we’ll get Do It To It make the top ten too

Aren't songs that do well in January usually songs that were doing well before the inevitable (and annoying) Christmas song take over?

Arrdee 'Flowers' for no.1 in January anyone?

I would give an outside chance of 'Shivers' getting back no.1 if it is allowed to reset or the label nominates it.

I assume Little Mix No will get a new peak around then.

If given the choice i'd think the label would choose to nominate Overpass Graffiti to be reset (that will have gone to ACR by then I think).
I think (hoping too) that Tell Me Something Good will have a new year push and be able to finally leap into the top 10.
Really hoping the motto will properly take off in January just like the business did last year and get a top 10 peak, hopefully Sam can go top 5 too once all the Christmas songs disappear.

If I am counting correctly the Xmas chart week will only be week 8 for 'Overpass Graffiti', it's probably bound to have an increase the following week even if it isn't quite the big bounce back week yet.

Think abcdefu has a good chance of a January #1

Hoping 'The Motto' can become a top 5/10 hit in January.

Also wouldn't be one bit surprised to see 'Heat Waves' get another reset and another new peak.
