This series has been a mess and in fact all the winners have been questionable with a lot of odd decisions along the way.

Should Ru judge UK Drag Race as I really don’t think she gets it? She seems to be applying some weird judgement to the UK Queens and what they have to offer

Absolutely f***ing not and neither should Michelle, who has recently turned out to be a nasty piece of work if you don't fit her idea of Drag.

What works so well about Canada is the judges, Brooke is so personable and Amanda Brugel genuinely cares about the girls and wants them to do well. Ru & Michelle couldn't care less and it's ruined this series for me

I really felt this season that she seemed out of her depth.

I don't think she knows many British people because it's like she asks questions expecting a certain reaction from the queens and they rarely seem to react how she expects.

Definitely not. I love the UK version so much more compared to the US, but having Ru there is such a letdown. He doesn't know a thing about British drag or culture and it shows.

No, I think every country should have their own panel so you get more of that culture/its drag scene coming through, and when the queens try to bring some of that they often get shut down by Ru. I mean look at Snatch Game this year, the fact distinctly British characters got stifled because she wasn't so familiar with them. And obviously each country's scene has different styles but Ru is holding them all to the same standards and keeping them within the same parameters as the US seasons.

There's problems with Ru even on the US seasons, for example how she expects younger queens to know all the references that made her who she is, but she never opens up to the references they share in their drag. Also stuff like the disco challenge last season, I get that it's important to know the history but it feels like she's constantly keeping drag within her parameters, using the references of her background, so the show has a narrow view of drag a lot of the time due to Ru (and Michelle).

I agree Canada has been a great example, a majority of the lipsyncs have been a Canadian song that's quite niche/forgotten/"gay" cult classic (Fefe Dobson - Ghost *.*), the guest judges have all been Canadian I believe (UK is good at that too) and the judges genuinely care and give great constructive criticism to help the queens grow and learn, not just tear down something they don't understand or didn't get.
