Glad we will at least have 4 platinum albums from next week. Can’t think of any other releases that will get a big enough Christmas boost to break 300k though. Fingers crossed 30 can get to 600k by end of year.
Dua and Harry's albums really have done very well over the past 2 years now we have the additional clarity of what albums sell these days.
can Olivia hold off Ed :o

It will be close as Olivia could attract a further 30,000 sales by year end, therefore Ed Sheeran needs at least 110,000 which is very achievable in a 4 week time frame.

Wonder who will win the battle between Abba and Ed, likely Ed due to streams!
I think Ed has bigger weeks ahead than abba plus streaming is in his favour, I think it will be adele, ed, abba and olivia in that order for year end.
Ed beat ABBA by almost 10k last week, he has a few weeks left to make up that 15k gap so would be surprising if he doesn't re-overtake ABBA by the end of the year.
Amazing how Adele will grab the best selling album of the year In less than 3 weeks
ABBAs Album seems to be holding up well everywhere to my surprise, even just replaced Adele at number 1 in Germany. It will probably be one of the bigger music gifts over Xmas and I think will have strong sales over the next few weeks. I will go out on limb and say it will hold off Ed until 2022
Streaming is not real sales, so ABBA will finish on the second place behind Adele.
Ya it will be good to see new albums doing platinum this year, its getting harder and harder for artists to achieve that though, i wonder will they change certifications in the future and lower them.

Am I right in thinking less than half will be albums released this year? With a fair percentage of older ones being greatest hits?

It's a bit sad but I guess a sign of the times.

Adele shooting right up to number 1 on week 3
