Posted December 7, 20213 yr Results time! I don't think the results will shock many, I thought it would be unpredictable than what will come.
December 7, 20213 yr Author 12. GIRLS Average 5.42 Highest scorer Aaron. 9 Lowest scorer Tawdry Hepburn -1 Released 6th of October 2008 as the lead single to the album. The track is build around an interpolation of 'Here Come the Girls' (1970) by Ernie K-Doe. Certified silver and peaked at #03. In the UK as a promotional gimmick, Boots, who don't normally stock singles, sold copies of this one to tie in with its long term use of the original version in TV commercials. The company pledged to donate to charity all revenues from copies of the single bought there. Recording this song was the idea of the girl trio themselves. Sugababe Amelle explained to Digital Spy: "We all love our soul and we wanted to go for an older sound. We had the track about two years ago - though it sounded very different then - but it didn't fit with the way the last album was going. The head of our label played the song to us again and we loved it! We changed it up, wrote our verses and added some more drums to the track and now it's perfect." On Wikipedia it's been classed as receiving positive reviews... Nick Levine from Digital Spy stated that "Around it they've built a brassy, funky, Ronsonish pop song with lyrics that push all the usual female empowerment buttons. The result is smart, catchy and very, very 2008 – and it sounds pretty good on the radio too. But it's also the first lead single from a Sugababes album that it's difficult to get excited about".[4] Lucy Davies from BBC Music found that the song has them "happily stomp their attitudes all over it until you can't remember it being anyone else's." Fun fact: It's used as one of the two theme songs of the Danish version of Take Me Out. FGCGlMQbTGw Is this is actually a surprise what with being the lead single or really not? I'm also going to really struggle to find as much to write about the other tracks compared to this. Edited December 8, 20213 yr by Simon.
December 7, 20213 yr Not a huge surprise. This and Hanging On A Star are my two least favourites, so hopefully that’s out next.
December 7, 20213 yr Not shocked its out first, its always attracted a lot of hate. But i still think this era had worse
December 8, 20213 yr Author 11. HANGING ON A STAR Average 6.57 Highest scorer Nina West Aaron. Tawdry Hepburn Liam.k. 8 Lowest scorer Run_For_Cover dandy* 3 Coming in at 11 is the 10th track from the album, "Hanging on a Star". I don't think it's particularly bad but it's not particularly great either. The only bit of info I can find about track online is that, "Hanging on a Star" contains a sample of "Yes, It's You" written by Nugetre. zSt0FlALW04
December 8, 20213 yr Unsurprising to see Girls finish last but definitely undeserved. I’m still not really sure what it is that warrants such negative reactions. It’s really catchy and full of attitude; I remember the Boots advert being everywhere. Before I properly delved into the album, Hanging on a Star was one of my favourites so again I’m surprised to see it out so early. A lot of the songs have overtaken since but I still think this could have made a solid single at some point.
December 8, 20213 yr YES at 'Girls' being out first, I would honestly put that in my top 5 worst songs of all-time, it's that horrific. I quite like 'Hanging on a Star', although it's a little bit throwaway 11th seems harsh.
December 8, 20213 yr I don't find Girls to be that bad, not sure it was entirely necessary either but it's fun! Hanging on a Star is one I've never been too sure on, my opinion changes depending on the mood I'm in.
December 8, 20213 yr I like hanging on a star and again it’s one that’s always got a lot of hate so I’m not surprised to see it out early but the era does still have worse than either of these tracks
December 8, 20213 yr Not surprised at 'Girls' being last, but 'Hanging On A Star' is actually not bad, far better than 'No Can Do' (which will probably drop next).
December 9, 20213 yr I liked No Can Do back in 2008, though not enough to think it should be a single. It’s dropped a fair bit down my order now, I hope it’s out next.
December 9, 20213 yr Author 10. BEWARE Average 6.88 Highest scorer AdamAloud Quarantilas 10 Lowest scorer Nina West dandy* 3 Bit of a shocker this being here I thought, although it was really close to being number 9. I don't mind the song, not one I'd pick out of choice but I don't skip it when it comes on either. Part of me thinks Keisha might have had a suspicion of what was coming up so was singing this seriously to Heidi & Amelle in her head. Nice that we also have a live performance of this below. wbx3hQqZ6tA I-yzarZzJus
December 9, 20213 yr Amelle is the sole babe credited on this one as a writer! So maybe she was warning Keisha!!! Shocked and horrified this is so low. It’s a major 3.0 highlight
December 9, 20213 yr Author Amelle is the sole babe credited on this one as a writer! So maybe she was warning Keisha!!! Never realised that, both definitely make sense  I feel like there was more going about around this song when it was first out. Like they spoke about it a fair bit, can't find anything 13 years later though.
December 9, 20213 yr I gave Beware a 9! Shocked to see it so low. Definitely a highlight on the album for me.
