I'm a bit bored of the running theme of always focusing on what they did wrong, rather than what anyone did well. Karen hasn't given a compliment once! It wouldn't hurt - imagine if it was this constant negativity on a show like Drag Race or The X Factor! It makes it seem like they have no faith in them....but they chose these 16?

But I think that's just me as most people seem to enjoy the clownery.

I'd agree with this - particularly when it comes to the losing team, across the series' I've watched there's very rarely a case where they say 'you actually did well, the other team just happened to do better'. I would definitely be happy with some more positivity!

I genuinely think there's more to Aaron than we've seen so far although I was expecting Nick to go this week.

I am the only one who thinks the concept of the wizard/wand wasn't actually too bad? It was just poorly executed imo.

Connor should no way have gone and he seems really sweet from You’re Fired too.

Yeah I agree on the lack of positivity point actually, though I know a lot of people tune in because they want to have a laugh and so they need some cannon fodder for that. I think the way they set the tasks up with them having so little time ensures that there’ll be a high failure rate. Like why do they only do market research when there’s no chance to actually change anything about their product anyway? It makes no sense and it usually just demoralises them.

Yeh it’s absolutely right but as you say it’s kind of like trying to show them as if they are stupid and it’s set up in a way that it’s impossible to do right the way the teams are split up so they can’t confide in the product and it creates division. Would that be reality in business?

I agree, I thought it was a brilliant concept! The execution was dire though - the mixed teams should put a stop to the brown and green

I thought both apps were really dull but I think it is an example of where they are limited by the format. I can’t imagine they had the capacity/ability to create anything more engaging. That kind of feeds into the negativity points as sometimes they are criticised for something that is a result of not having the necessary tools at hand or the time required to do something properly!

It depends what you watch Apprentice for really, it is very contrived and edited for entertainment, but at the same time, it is still nice to have a turn-your-brain-off kind of thing every week so it doesn't bother too much (and tbh, the first few weeks and the tasks are always a disaster, it's when you see their business plans that you start to see the actual talent, it's a problem with the format really).

I do think both of these ideas could've been good with a bit more time dedicated to them (and the girl's toothbrush looked great for a younger target market), while Connor was ineffective, it annoys me that the PM got off fine and tried to shift the blame when he wasn't willing to change the turd design even when the investor advised him of it, that was definitely what lost them it, not the unisex issue.

I purely watch this as a comedy so for me I don’t mind the negativity so much but when the losing team was genuinely good or on par then I think it’s harsh but that happens so rarely most of the time.

Week two and we’re already on for a howler of a f***up by his lordship. Given the limited time they have, that app was fundamentally solid. It had the more educational side and it showed the progression through the brushing process far more so than the girls. Ultimately it was a product and concept failure (I don’t necessarily think the concept was bad but the concept pitch to the retailers was) and so Someone from that side (ie the PM) should have been sacked.

The order numbers are obviously total BS but I’d love to know one day how these companies actually base their faux order decisions. Like is there a strategy, is it based on similar products that get rolled out. V curious.

Think the girls app was pure garbage even with the time constraints but the product was much better. IMO what actually won it and made the difference was the pitch. They pitched it perfectly. First time I’ve really seen (in a long time anyway) someone really hit the „look this is a concept this is a mock up we want the feedback we can Polish this up a bit we got this“ mark so directly rather than dance a little around it and I liked that. Thought they got their vision over but also were able to communicate in a positive way that they’ve had a day to do this shit so obvi it’s not perfect in a way that brought the customer with them. Think Francesca could do well

Spoilers on someone who has had to leave the show early (I imagine it’ll be revealed at the start of the next episode so not much of a spoiler but alas!)
