Posted December 12, 20213 yr Can't believe there's not a thread for this yet! Really hoping it can reach the #1 spot in January. NaFd8ucHLuo I think I'm liking the 'angier' version a little more though, hoping she goes full 'Travis Barker-core' on future releases x
December 12, 20213 yr Going to be HUGE in the new year when Christmas songs drop out. Just recently hit #1 global spotify for a couple days (before Mariah's knocked if off) and doing 5 million+ streams worldwide. Wouldn't be surprised to see it peaking with 8-10 million streams sometime in January.
December 12, 20213 yr This is great, I hadn’t heard it until a few days ago. Hoping it goes #1 after Christmas.
December 12, 20213 yr That must be a Buzzjack record for latest started ever thread for a song! This song is like the Frankee to blackbear's Eamon!
December 12, 20213 yr Author That must be a Buzzjack record for latest started ever thread for a song! This song is like the Frankee to blackbear's Eamon! But they're not about each other?
December 12, 20213 yr But they're not about each other? I know but the two songs are just so similar in lyric themes that I will now forever associate them with each other! Interestingly I really didn't like the blackbear song at the time but the GAYLE song which I think is quite good has made me like it more. Edited December 12, 20213 yr by Snakin' Stevens
December 12, 20213 yr I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't like this song. The whole spelling the alphabet is way too gimmicky for me. Also the whole reason the song started trending is a bit rubbish.
December 12, 20213 yr Also the whole reason the song started trending is a bit rubbish. What reason is that? It seems to just be another random song that got popular on TikTok for no particularly remarkable reason as far as I'm aware, did I miss something?
December 13, 20213 yr What reason is that? It seems to just be another random song that got popular on TikTok for no particularly remarkable reason as far as I'm aware, did I miss something? From what I’ve seen, it all started when she asked on TikTok for ideas for songs. Then she replied to someone’s comment saying to write a song using the alphabet with the chorus of the song as if she just came up with it. Then a few weeks later the song is fully written and produced and released officially. It then turned out that the original commenter suggesting the use of the alphabet works for Atlantic records and it was all a ploy to get the song trending. Which at the end of the day doesn’t really matter, but just seems a bit off to me.

Honestly kudos for her for being able to create something very popular thanks to someone else's idea and becoming the new Olivia Rodrigo worldwide. ^_^
December 15, 20213 yr Honestly kudos for her for being able to create something very popular thanks to someone else's idea and becoming the new Olivia Rodrigo worldwide. ^_^ I think you missed the point a bit. It wasn’t someone else’s idea, it was a label ploy to get the song trending. Also it annoys me when people say she’s the new Olivia Rodrigo. (and it’s not just you I’ve seen it a lot) Shes had one successful song because of TikTok, if she gets some more massive hits and a hugely successful album then she could be called the new Olivia.
