Gutted for Cam Norrie. After a great few months it looks like he was destroyed in round 1

Norrie was unlucky in the draw, this Korda is one of the best newbies and should have a much higher ranking than he has

Nadal won much easier than I thought and Barty also had a super easy win

looks like Roland Garros have changed their mind too and are gonna require everybody to be fully vaccinated

even if you don't need to be fully vaccinated to enter France (unlike AU)

The right decision re. Djokovic - glad things have settled down now at least. It's certainly made the top section of the draw a lot more open though!

A real shame for Norrie, sounds like he's really disappointed by the result as well. Here's hoping he's able to come back stronger.

^not really she's in really poor shape, she hasn't won a game in ages

was more surprised at Leyla Fernandez and especially Coco Gauff leaving already! Raducanu playing later today

And I wouldn't at all be surprised if Emma lost as well. Women's side always making a mockery of its seedings.

Would be crazy if both of the last finalists went out round 1. I really want Emma to win (even if just to justify the SPOTY win over Daley and Peaty, with the latter more deserving in my opinion)

Well thankfully she did win (was definitely concerned about her poor form going into the tournament).

Very peculiar match though, 2-1 in sets but all were very one-sided.

Yeah such an odd score line - sad that Stephens is struggling as I thought she’d be up the top for a while

So four Brits into round 2 - Evans, Murray, Raducanu & Watson

Raducanu won but what a bizarre game, could easily have ended in a 6-0, 0-6, 6-0 :D

Nothing much happened today, forgot how boring week 1 can be at times

Tomorrow looks more interesting with Kyrgios-Medvedev, would really like an upset ;)

Murray lost in straight sets today

Raducanu also lost and deservedly so, played another horrible horrible game.

Surprised at Kotaveit and Muguruza gone so early but they haven't done much warm up for the AU Open.

Currently Kyrgios is making Medvedev sweat for the win

Raducanu had blisters apparently and not like she lost in straight sets like Murray, unfortunate but there we go.

I still hold hope Kyrgios will win a Slam one day.

Shame for Emma but I think she did well to take it to a decider and win as many games as she did given the hand blister that was holding her back for most of the match. Well done to Danka Kovinic for making her first third round.

So it’s down to Dan Evans from a British perspective!

Loads of opportunities in the doubles though
