January 7, 20224 yr Slight shame at the Encanto soundtrack being given the 3 track rule after all as it could very well have given us another rare foreign language top 100 hit (Sebastián Yatra - Dos Oruguitas) otherwise. But OCC gonna OCC with their confusingly inconsistent rules. If they're going to count all the Encanto songs as being by the same artist then surely the album should then be in the main album chart, it makes no sense to have it both ways. A lot of first time charting artists among the new entries in the top 100 this week! Jaymes Young finally having a UK 'hit' to his name over 8 years after giving me my first top 2 finish in BJSC *.* and impressive to see Lauren Spencer-Smith impacting from only a couple of days of availability - possibly coming to have back to back weeks of songs having massive climbs to #1.

January 9, 20224 yr You probably mean why so much as everything climbed. It returned to SCR category together with several other tracks, most bizarrely those re-enters in top 20 that didn't even returned to their peaks.
January 9, 20224 yr Just realised Merry Christmas was the only song to return to #1 in 2021. The last fortnight has therefore added another two years to the run of calendar years, stretching back to 2009, where at least one song has returned to #1.
