She's such a charisma vacuum, it's actually painful to watch her live performances.

This release is what a real flop looks like, as devalued as that term is around here these days with everyone and their gran being declared a flop within days of any release that doesn't go straight to #1.

(I didn't really expect it to do anything, but it is astonishing that even with her continuing to get radio support she is not even registering the tiniest blip on iTunes let alone anywhere else)

She needed a stronger release to do that I think. This just sounds like some album leftover of hers.

Yeah exactly this. Had she come back with an upbeat track or even something in the vein of Jazzy - Giving Me she'd have got a hit. This song is just so uneventful who would want to choose to listen to it.

I really doubt she would've done, somehow.

Oh, there's no doubt that she could have got a hit had she come back with a dance banger, and it's not like she doesn't know how to make one.

Perhaps, but I suspect it would've had to grow into a hit rather than being one out of the gate - it wasn't like Silly Me got sampled and then rejected. It just... went nowhere. Like has been pointed out, it doesn't seem like she's built a fanbase at all that supports here but is basically dependent on the casual buyer.

She's left it 5 years though, and practically all of her goodwill has been eroded in that time.

I think the best she could have hoped for was a 30-something peaking comeback single in any event.

Cheryl, who was just as big as Jess, also left it 5 years and also had a flop as floppy as this.

All of Cheryl's singles charted though :coffee:

‘Love Made Me Do It’ is like a multiple platinum million seller compared to the fortunes of ‘Silly Me’

The version you didn't know you needed. ;)

OK I'm just gonna say it. This has grown on me and I quite like the song now. *goes and hides*
