February 4, 20224 yr oh true, didn't think about it before, but the new Ezra is very similar to Vampire Weekend
February 4, 20224 yr Author It's every frikking week I'm sure labels have deals with radios, some artists never get skipped, while others are the opposite But what would they gain from that? One play on the chart show isn't going to make them loads of revenue. Fairly sure it's just the team behind the chart show who decide what's played (maybe some input from Scott too? not sure)
February 4, 20224 yr I'd listen to 'Heat Waves' 50 times in a row rather than listening to that Central Cee thing I endured once.
February 4, 20224 yr I know it's very early days but could Heat Waves potentially manage 100 consecutive weeks in the chart? Its current run started right at the beginning of 2021 and it's still in the Top 40 after surviving Christmas...

Sergio Kitchens (born 1993), used to practice what he and his friends called “six-month runs”: cut all extraneous spending for six months and save, save, save. The discipline and deferred gratification served him well: After spending his late teens and early twenties quietly exploring his style and releasing only one mixtape, Gunna broke big in 2016 with a feature on Young Thug’s “Floyd Mayweather”—a cosign that helped him bypass the hustle and made him one of the most sought-after new voices in the game. Later that year, Thug’s YSL label released the first of his multi-part Drip Season series, which synthesized his influences into an airy trap sound: smooth and mellow, blending spacious beats with a relaxed, highly melodic delivery and off-the-cuff humor. Between a couple more seasons of Drip and features with Travis Scott (“Yosemite”) and Metro Boomin (“Space Cadet”), Gunna also forged a productive collaboration with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, releasing Drip Harder in late 2018. The pairing was anointed GOAT status from a sometime GOAT himself, Future, with whom Gunna also featured on “Unicorn Purp.” Like Thug, Gunna has a thing for fashion; “drip” is his slang for personal style. “The salesmen that know me in Barneys say I smell like Biscotti mixed with Creed,” he raps on “Idk Why,” from his official 2019 debut album, Drip or Drown 2. - Apple Music Future There’s a good anecdote that Future recounted in an interview—about getting into an argument with a guy who was worried about one of the Atlanta rapper’s engineers. The engineer hadn’t left the studio in a week. Had he even eaten? Don’t worry, Future said—he himself hadn’t left in a week, either, and someone was bringing in Wendy’s from up the block. Barely a season goes by without new music from the rapper born Nayvadius Wilburn (in 1983)—whether it’s a mixtape, solo album, or collaborative project (with Drake, with Gucci Mane, with the producer Zaytoven). But prolific isn’t the half of it. Druggy, raw, slick, and surreal, Future’s sound—crystallized on highlights like 2014’s Honest, 2015’s DS2, and 2017’s HNDRXX—has helped redefine 2010s street rap as something strange and almost avant-garde: trap as modern psychedelia. Not that it isn’t melodic too. Like fellow Atlantan and collaborator Young Thug, Future has a way of bending his voice (often using Auto-Tune) into soulful, often sad shapes, half-rapped and half-sung—the sound of a crooner stuck in space. “The biggest thing is just being yourself all the time,” he told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe in early 2017. “When you try and be yourself all the time, everyone’s not gonna like it. But you gotta wake up with that person. At the end of the day, you can be able to look at the person and be like, You know what, I know I’m being myself; I’m not being anyone else. And that’s the greatest thing about this: It’s me being myself.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Gunna 2018 28 Drip Too Hard (Lil Baby & Gunna) -1- 2018 46 Never Recover (Lil Baby, Gunna & Drake) -AT- 2018 38 Broken Homes (The Plug presents Nafe Smallz, M Huncho & Gunna) 2019 52 Hot (Young Thug feat. February 4, 20224 yr Author 29 | | 1st week Charli XCX featuring Rina Sawayama Beg For You 3rd single from CRASH Released: 28th January 2022 Label: Asylum Records UK Chart Statistics NE (10/02/2022) | 29 Sales: - Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio TBA Sales TBA Audio Streaming TBA Video Streaming Video 7OhqYJyZcvM Biography Whether she’s penning defiantly joyous singles like “I Love It” or exploring her darker side, Charli XCX is proof that you don’t need to stay in one lane to become a massive success. Born Charlotte Aitchison in 1992 in Cambridge, England, to Scottish and Gujarati Indian parents, Charli took up songwriting at 14, lifting her stage name from her instant messenger handle. On the strength of her MySpace uploads and performances at London raves, she landed a record deal at 18, released the modestly successful darkwave cuts “Stay Away” and “Nuclear Seasons”, then hit the big time with 2012’s kiss-off anthem “I Love It”. Originally scrapped from her own album for being too poppy, the beat-pounding re-recording by Swedish duo Icona Pop quickly became a worldwide dance-floor favourite. Her goth-tinged debut album, 2013’s True Romance, and tracks like the psychedelic, Gold Panda-sampling "You (Ha Ha Ha)” soon positioned Charli as the missing link between Grimes’ freak scene, Lorde’s dark melodies, and Carly Rae Jepsen’s sweetness. Never one to repeat herself, she’s built a track record as a prolific songwriter and collaborator, penning hits for Iggy Azalea (“Fancy”) and Selena Gomez (“Same Old Love”) and working with the likes of Lil Yachty, David Guetta and BTS. She even followed up the 2019 eclectic, star-studded Charli with 2020’s intimate how i'm feeling now, an album written with fan input during her six-week pandemic quarantine. One thing is clear: Charli XCX’s creative drive and willingness to take risks has made her one of the most unique, enthralling artists of her era. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Charli XCX 2013 01 I Love It (Icona Pop feat. February 4, 20224 yr Heat Waves :music: fresh out the oven! Top 5 on the streaming chart but not in the Top 30  Sort it out OCC!
February 4, 20224 yr Not a fan of the new Ezra song tbh! But it’s not like I’ve been a fan of him at all. Pleasant listening though
February 4, 20224 yr Author Can't get enough of Beg for You atm *.* Charli's first top 40 as a lead artist in over 3 years and Rina's first ever!
February 4, 20224 yr I know it's very early days but could Heat Waves potentially manage 100 consecutive weeks in the chart? Its current run started right at the beginning of 2021 and it's still in the Top 40 after surviving Christmas... I think it'll come very close, maybe 95-99 weeks before the Christmas songs push it out!
