'Dance To This' totally passed me by at the time it was released somehow but it was a great belated discovery when I finally listened to it a while later, definitely one of her best features and a shame that it wasn't more of a hit, I don't really see why it couldn't have been really!

I found 'Santa Tell Me' very mediocre when it first came out but from constant exposure to it over the last few Christmases it has wormed its way into my affections, enough to get a few points from me here

ghostin is such a beautiful track and very deserving of its place high up here.

Like Jade said, it would be such an amazing song to hear performed live but I don’t think it will ever happen.

24. Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea) (170 points)

23. Save Your Tears (Remix) (with The Weeknd) (181 points)

Two songs from the exact opposite ends of her career make up with section with both her first ever UK top 40 hit and her 2nd most recent appearing back-to-back. As I just mentioned, ‘Problem’ was Ari’s introduction to the top 40 after The Way had just fallen short and what a way for her to announce herself, bagging her first #1 single in the process. I had been a casual fan before but it was just around this era where I truly became an Ariana stan so nostalgia is very strong and everything surrounding this era remains so iconic to me; The black and white chequered outfits, Iggy’s legendary-rapper-referencing verse, Big Sean’s whispered chorus. I had promised earlier in my commentary for Best Mistake that Sean would be making another uncredited appearance and here it is! I’ve just read that the Ying Yang Twins were originally earmarked for the guest verse(!), that would have been interesting to say the least. I ranked Problem in my bronze position while …ready for it (+37) and London (+32) also ranked it in their top 10s. The rest of its voters were Kath (+21), Riser (+18), Nick F1 and Lunar (both +12),

Another #1 single but this time across the Atlantic in the US, ‘Save Your Tears’ became both artists’ 6th chart topper in the country after the release of this remix. Ariana had already previously appeared on the remix of some other massive hits (What Do You Mean, Good As Hell) but this certainly seems to be her best received guest appearance yet. We didn’t get the high pitched, powerful vocals that we’ve come to expect from Ari here with her showing off her range with a sultry, deeper register that works great for the song. It’s not officially our favourite collab with the Weeknd though… This appeared in the top 10s of Liam.k. (+38), Jade (+33) and Brer (+33) as well as receiving points from kath (+23), Riser (+19), Nick F1 (+17), Cremey (+9) and Lunar (+9).

I agree that 'Problem' is very nostalgic! I don't think the horn trend has aged brilliantly in general but at the time I was all over the song.

'Save Your Tears (Remix)' was in my top 3 favourite songs of last year (alongside Måneskin - ZITTI E BUONI and Wolf Alice - The Last Man On Earth) - genuinely a collab of dreams for me as I was already in love with The Weeknd solo version and Ari took it up a notch, could not have asked for more

22. Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart (185 points)

21. Dangerous Woman (187 points)

Next, scoring 4 more points than 'Save Your Tears (Remix)', to achieve 22nd place here is Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart. This is an album track taken from Ariana's sophomore record My Everything. It was initially cherrypicked from the album by One Direction fans after learning that Harry Styles was involved with the writing of it. Ari called the song "beautiful" and revealed that she thought Harry was "an amazing writer". This was back when Harry was just 20 years old and a good 3 years away from kickstarting his solo career. He would later perform the song himself at a San Francisco concert in 2017. But first, Ariana showed the world how powerful a vocalist she is when tackling 'Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart' at the Grammy Awards in 2015. The song is a piano ballad, one of quite a few slower moments on My Everything. Ariana is singing about being stuck in love with someone who has cheated on you, hence the longing vocals. The words may have come from Harry (and Johan Carlsson) but Ariana wrote about her own experiences of cheating elsewhere on the record ('Break Your Heart Right Back', for instance) so I'm sure some of the words rang true. I can reveal that 'Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart' is the highest placing album track from My Everything, although we still have 3 singles left to come. Voters for this included myself, ...ready for it, Brer, Haus, LewisGT, Lunar and Riser so quite a handful of fans. Riser unfortunately loses his +40 here!

Just missing out on a place in the top 20 is the title track from Ariana's third studio album Dangerous Woman! This week actually marked the 6 year anniversary since this much-loved era kicked off. Ariana had a tough task coming back with something new after the My Everything album had been such a successful time for her. But 2016 came and Ariana decided to give us something different with a more guitar-leaning lead single than expected. Her pop, R&B and soul influences were still evident though. It's a mid-tempo, slow-jam type song that feels like a natural progression lyrically as Ariana was breaking further away from Nickelodeon and instead embracing the rest of her early 20s as a mainstream pop-star. "Somethin' 'bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman" felt like quite a seductive, grown-up statement and Ari compliments this approach in the video, with a mature lingerie look and a lot of staring into the camera. It's a very simple visual really - apparently there was a second video planned in addition to this one but it was cancelled due to a lack of time. Another alternative visual version of 'Dangerous Woman' includes Ariana tackling the song acapella, sporting the bunny ear look from the Dangerous Woman artwork. She gives off a seriously impressive vocal performance here. I can confirm that she replicated this song very well live too when I saw her a few years ago. Ariana was here to let us know that she was an empowered woman, but she had also met someone who brings out another side of her on top of that. Away from Ari herself, it was revealed that Charlie Puth is hiding away in the mix - contributing some beatboxing - which apparently was included to achieve a higher frequency on the snare drum. Dangerous Woman picked up 187 points here, from: myself, ...ready for it, Cremey, Haus, Julian, Kath, Lewis, Liam.k and Lunar - huge voting pool :o

Surprised at 'Dangerous Woman' missing the top 20 although I've never been a huge fan of it so not complaining really :kink: although why is 'Focus' higher than it, this is a travesty xx

Good result for 'Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart', definitely a highlight among her earlier album tracks <3 good to see that a few of my other fave album tracks are still to come as high as the top 20, especially 'bad idea' and 'Touch It'.

'Save Your Tears' feels a little bit low as well although having said that I did mark it down a little bit just because it's fairly interchangeable with The Weeknd's solo version for me so it feels a little strange to compare it to the rest of Ariana's discog.

Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart was an instant favourite of mine at the time. A really lovely ballad!

Dangerous Woman missing the top 40 is just wrong :(

Ahh I'm really happy that five others voted for JALBOYH! I was slightly nervous it'd get my 40 points and nothing from anyone else, but of course it'd have other fans as such a strong album track!

20. Focus (192 points)

Welcome to Buzzjack's Top 20 most loved Ariana tracks. From here we will be revealing the results one by one. Starting off then, some of you expressed shock and disgust in the previous round that 'Dangerous Woman' was out before this one. Does the fact that it was by the skin of our teeth make it better or worse? Previously titled 'Focus On Me', the meant-to-be lead single from third album (then titled) "Moonlight" came in the form of 'Focus', which is essentially a result of the label saying "Hey Ari, Problem was huge! Let's remake it but give you a platinum wig in the music video.... let's hope they don't mishear the Jamie Foxx voiced hook as F**K A ZOMBIE!!". The similarities between the two tracks are undeniable with their brassy Max Martin productions and basic hooks featuring an uncredited male vocalist, the only thing missing is a female rapper for the bridge, where in this instance we got a fun dance break.

'Focus' was excluded from the retitled 'Dangerous Woman' album due to it's mediocre success, Label execs from Republic also put it down to the fact it was "Calculated to a fault, too polished for a time when pop's biggest stars, particularly its women, were letting their flaws bleed into the music.". It did however go on to feature on the 'Japanese Deluxe Edition'. Despite this, the track still managed top 10 in many territories and collected certications including an impressive Double-Platinum in the US.

Points came from: Cremey, who isn't the only one that LOVES this with his +37 score as Riser raised that with +39. Lewis matched with another +37. Then we have; Liam (+30), kath (+20), ready for it... (+13), myself (+9) and Nick (+7).

Focus

I was so obsessed with it at the time; the video is everything! I can't believe it's finished above Problem :o

let's hope they don't mishear the Jamie Foxx voiced hook as F**K A ZOMBIE!!

*_* cannot unhear x (if I am ever in the unfortunate position of having to hear that awful hook again that is :kink:)

Hook aside the rest of the song is really just an inferior version of 'Problem' which is already not exactly one of her best songs so the appeal is just lost on me in general, pretty comfortably her worst song imo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Greedy (195 points)

Greedy’ was an instant fan favourite and it’s not hard to see why. The song doesn’t waste a second in catching your attention with a powerful, sustained ‘Greeeeeeeeeeeedyyyyyy’ that lets you know from the off that you’re getting an unabashed full-on disco diva moment. And from there, the song just doesn’t let up with the double-entendres describing to us how Ari is ‘physically obsessed’ with her new love. This was another Max Martin & Ilya produced moment from Ari and they did a great job in matching the excessive nature of the lyrics and Ari’s performance with horns, saxophones, guitars, trumpets, drums and more all thrown into the mix. It just feels right that a song called ‘Greedy’ has a killer key change that makes the song just that little bit more epic. This was undoubtably such a massive moment in the Dangerous Woman Tour where it was accompanied by thousands of dollar notes with Ariana’s face on then raining from the sky throughout the audience. I still carry around one of them in my wallet

I started off by saying that this is a fan favourite and for the longest time that was also true for this site. But maybe it’s beginning to lose it’s shine as this is only the 6th highest track from Dangerous Woman in the LoveChart after it finished 4th in last year’s album rate. However, it’s still in the top 20 and has some devoted fans, picking up top marks from both Julian and London. Also greedy for love were Jade (37), Liam.k, (32), Cremey (20), …ready for it (11), me (10) and Nick F1 (5).

The fact that 'Side to Side' was SO successful cursed 'Greedy', the label clearly had Urban airplay in mind after that. I stand by the fact that if it was released as a single, it would have been one of her most successful. I was envisioning a Candyman-esque video with some cute choreo OR something like a 007 movie bank heist vibe as Ari lip syncs in the passenger seat whilst her chauffer races away from the cops in a black Cadillac with dollar bills flying out of the window. The single handed biggest loss as a single of any song ever. Never fails to lift me up, that final chorus with key change is EVERYTHING. I'm surprised it didn't make more peoples list.

A couple of years ago I would've presumed that 'Greedy' was the ultimate fan favourite album track on here but that's really been disproved in recent times. First being out-performed in the 'Dangerous Woman' rate, then only scraping the top 10 in AF Idol and now several 'Dangerous Woman' tracks finishing ahead of it here too :o maybe some people got tired of it over time as it's so instant and in-your-face? I'd love to know if that was the case for anyone. Well, personally it is my favourite Ariana album track and brings me so much joy - what an absolute monster *.*
Greedy is great (if somewhat overrated). Her vocals are insane and the key change is *.* but a number of her songs have a bit more depth to it and are better produced imo x
'Greedy' is not entirely for me but I do quite like it and it's certainly a memorable track, a lot moreso than most of the pre-'thank u, next' album tracks that I didn't vote for, can definitely see why it's such a fan favourite! (There are still several album tracks that I voted for that are still to come so quite glad that it's not quite the ultimate album track here though x)

Break Free (feat. Zedd) (201 points)

Our first song to break the 200 points barrier is the second single from the My Everything era! This is of course Break Free. Ariana had well and truly broken into the mainstream with lead single 'Problem' so next was keeping up the momenum with a killer follow-up. 'Problem' had been bang on trend for 2014 with its horn-infused production and Iggy Azalea feature, so what was next? Well, dance music was undergoing a huge commercial revival in the U.K. (#1s that year just off the top of my head came from: Clean Bandit, DVBBS, Kiesza, SecondCity, Sigma, Route 94 and more) so this was surely poised for success. Sadly, silly instant grat rules at the time hampered its chart potential, but it was still another top 20 under her belt even with these limitations. Ariana was of course unleashing her inner dance diva here with help from another name who was hot property - Russian-German DJ Zedd. 'Break Free' was hardly re-inventing the wheel for the genre although Ari's vocal contributions were almost re-inventing the English language, with some choice diction and phrasing ("who I really are"), that is still joked about now. Still, the appeal came from the feel-good factor. "This is the part where I break free" is an empowering lyric that invites people to really let go either on a Friday night on the dancefloor, or sitting at home craving a pick-me-up. It's an easy unifying singalong. Zedd's production was very much what we'd expect from him at the time (his shtick has since morphed into a ticking clock) although he did spice things up right at the end for a memorable outro. Something else that sticks in the mind is the visuals for this single - whether that is in a positive or negative way is another thing. Ariana takes on an intergalactic theme here that has continued throughout her career, such as: a song called 'NASA', similar inspiration for the '34+35' video and the packaging for her 'R.E.M.' perfume. Some could argue that the execution was tacky but the numbers do not lie as it's still the third most popular video on her YouTube channel, with 1.1 billion views. Fans of 'Break Free' included: ...ready for it, Cremey, Julian, Kath, Lewis, Lunar, Nick F1 and Riser. Poor Julian has lost his top two in a row - with 'Greedy' receiving his +40 and 'Break Free' +39!

Break Free is still a banger. I don’t think I go back to it as much as I should.

I love the music video :kink:

Same, same, same.

It sounds pretty dated now but I honestly think it's one of the catchiest songs ever and it never fails to lift my mood. I very much rate songs going by how much they effect my mood in a positive way, also I'm simply incapable of saying no to a big gay ol' bop. In all honesty there was probably a part of my subconscious that knew both 'Break Free' and 'Greedy' wouldn't have ranked as highly without my top votes, so I pushed (some obviously better overall quality songs) back a little to help my dearly beloved friends.
