Yep its very D Block Europe melodically, interesting to see in UK rap how the trends are going and whether the drill sound or the D Block Europe type sound will have more longevity over time, and what will be the next sound in UK rap to emerge.

 

Hoping garage comes back to replace this tired drill sound, weird that only AJ Tracey has done it (twice) and everyone loved it, both songs smashed but no one has really done it since? (to my knowledge anyway)

I must listen to those new Burna Boy and Lucky Daye tracks.

 

The Burna Boy song isn't new (it's from his 2019 album), looks like it's also been boosted by appearing on the new Top Boy series, same as the Potter Payper track.

J. Cole - No Role Modelz, another long runner, reached a new peak of #82 earlier this month.

The remix of 'Go' on the verge of overtaking the original, drum n bass definitely seems to be making a pretty solid comeback after being nearly entirely absent from the mainstream for so long!

 

This is interestingly the second time 'Wait A Minute!' has started gaining traction, the first time was back before her two recent big hits but it stalled out before getting particularly high so interested to see if it'll do better this time. It might need an SCR reset to go top 100 though as it is from 2015.

 

Aitch slowly but surely closing the gap on Dave, so wouldn't be too surprising if he takes over at #1 some time soon unless another big new release comes to beat both. (There is the Balvin/Sheeran songs coming but I feel like those are, like 'Bam Bam', not likely to be a threat to #1).
