Dramatic new trailer alert :o

What does it mean??? I'm so intrigued. Assuming it's for the anniversary though 38 years isn't exactly significant

The trailer really isn't giving anything away but my interest is piqued. The show is on top form at the moment, so I'm sure it will be great whatever this storyline is about!

Also have to say the return of Sam has been one of the best written for quite some time. I like the way the writers have slowly bedded her back in before returning her character to the version that left in 2005 and haven't completed discounted the regressed Daniella version. It's felt very natural and she's working well away from the core Mitchell group.

Agree about Sam. Her scenes with Zack this week were really good, especially when they were both in her flat talking about his diagnosis. Kim plays a much better Sam than Daniella.

I know right, there's not a lot to go off although the dialogue does mention both "time" and "flash". I remember recently reading that Clenshaw was planning a storyline that "hadn't been done before" so I wonder if this is connected to that at all. They've already done a flashback episode but maybe there are other avenues that can be explored.

Whatever it is, I do like a cinematic EE trailer. *flashbacks to 'Gods & Monsters' charting just off the back of the 2014 trailer*

The reintroduction of Sam has been a huge success down to both Kim and the writing. I’m currently watching Sam in 2002 on Classic EE and have just witnessed Danielle’s 2010 stint on iplayer and it’s definitely the case that they messed up with the revert casting. Sam in 2002 is actually very believable as a continuation of Sam from the 90s but the writing in 2009/10 for the character was atrocious. Despite being the original actress, she bares no resemblance at all to any previous Sam, way too tarty and brought back simply as a plot device. The existence of Ricky Jnr is basically all the good we got from that. Kim has done an amazing job of accommodating that disastrous stint, it absolutely feels that she has history with Jack.
Kim is DEFINITELY the ttue Sam Mitchell! She's been amazing, start to finish - and unlike Mel, she won't be killed off in a Bird Box rip off storyline!

AN ICONIC MOMENT OF OUR TIME!!!!! :cheeseblock:

Some of the Lola scenes are so emotional, Danielle again showing when she is giving the right work she can deliver, i have said this a few times that i think it was a mistake to axe her. Jay and Lola are really working so strong as a couple right now and i think there scenes are very authentic,.
There is a lot of attention to detail right now. When Emma was telling her story, I clocked how uncomfortable Billy looked and thought to myself ‘I wonder if he’s thinking about Jamie’ and lo and behold he brings it up later. This is something that would have been a missed opportunity even just a year ago.

Chris Clenshaw deserves all the accolades for getting this show well into shape, along with anyone else involved in the background as it just seems so well put together - the character development, interactions, nods to the past and so on. The feel of it is worlds away from where it was barely 12 months ago, although it wasn't terrible under Jon Sen it just shows how much room for improvement there was. I'm imagining EE will sweep at the Soap Awards, maybe even the BAFTA too which they won 4 years ago.

We also have some initial spoilers for 'Everything Changes' week (from 20th Feb)

Monday: It's an eventful night for the women of Walford at The Vic, Linda is shaken by the past, and Nish and Suki put their plan into action.

Tuesday: Kim tries to rope in a man to help with her latest venture, Sharon seeks advice from an unlikely source, and Freddie and Bobby get creative.

Wednesday: Denise can’t resist temptation, while Keanu’s behaviour catches up with him. Not wanting to make the wrong decision, Linda seeks advice

Thursday: Denise plays with fire, but at what cost? Nish continues to scheme to get what he wants. Sharon takes matters into her own hands and makes her feelings known.

Daran Little writes Monday's episode, with Simon Ashdown doing the last 2 of the week which should mean some big moments!

I was thinking when they were talking aboot the hitting that Billy wss introduced the same way vs poor Jamie, back when Billie had a receding hairline! I assumed that they would just ignore it or completely forget about it, but nope, they tackled it head-on!!
What's the deal with Reiss? I get the feeling there's something dark brewing there and I'm worried for Sonia
A 12 y/o having a child due to the Ultra Conserative League of Eastenders is a JOKE.

Why are they not allowed to explore this as a storyline? Realistically it can and does happen with teenagers having kids. EE can't bury their head in the sand and avoid real life issues as it's not in their nature to do so. They want soaps to reflect real life as much as possible. You're entitled to not be on board I guess but it's not exactly unsurprising for them to do this storyline in the slightest so they can't be called conservative
