Lauren's return really isn't feeling very natural (and neither is Penny's)... I just feel like there'd be more to it than "okay I guess we're going to live here again and have a whole expensive flat handed to us on a plate by the council".

I really don’t think we needed Lauren back tbh. All she’s done is yell about people lying to her when she spent most of her previous stint lying to someone about something. She’s an overrated character and they killed off the wrong sister. I can’t see what she can do this time around to prove me wrong on this.

I think Jacqueline is capable of much more than they’re giving Lauren, but there truly was no point bringing her back without at least Max or Tanya. Having a kid with Peter and then having Jack/Penny as her family unit isn’t enough, because all she’s doing is telling Peter she won’t get back with him.

Lauren has potential but she's always wasted, she needs a good gritty storyline and Peter and Penny aren't it although it would be kinda cute for them to get back together, idk why she's so against it :lol: next thing is gonna be Peter and Penny getting together or smt :rolleyes: I'm kinda hoping we see a bond grow between Lauren and Linda, they've both struggled with similar things and now they have Annie connecting them so it seems fitting

Really gutted to see Sam go. They were taking her round in circles though so I’m glad she stuck it to Phil in the end.

 

Also hope this really is the end for Phil and Kat though it feels weak considering she stuck with him after the Keeble mess. Just hope it doesn’t mean the return of Phil and Sharon.

Disappointed to see Sam go but I agree they were going around in circles with her and there was zero character development since she returned and part of me thinks the same might happen with Lauren but hopefully her return paves the way for max or Tanya to return or ideally both.

A real dip in quality going on these past two weeks. Do we really care about Phil and Kat? No. Kat and Nish? Ew. Gina and Dean? Double Ew.

 

Priya being the shining light in all of this "Kat's had more traffic than the Dartford tunnel" :lol:

I've stopped watching, it's just got so boring.

 

IDGAF about Lauren, Penny, Gina or her dad.

 

Hopefully it'll pick up and I can watch again.

Kat and Nish's scenes aren'tas bad as I thought they would be. She is clearly going to go back to Phil though and Nish has ulterior motives.

 

Dean is my main issue... but he has to have a shelf life and will get a comeuppance eventually. Hopefully its sooner rather than later!

 

Also liking the Bobby/ Cindy scenes. She clearly cannot stand him, so its going to be interesting to see how Bobby getting with Anna is going to go.

 

 

CHRIST these Kim/Howie/Rory/that random girl slagging Kim off scenes :mellow:

They just need to give us more Priya tbh, her character is exactly the kind of comic relief we need

Yeah, what's going on? The dip in quality has become very apparent.

 

This whole Gina/Dean thing is f**king awful. I really don't buy Gina being the type to date another guy who has been accused of rape...twice. George's total NON reaction to it was also a massive wtf moment too :mellow:

 

The Kim scenes were GOD awful.

 

Lauren...Penny...what was the reason behind bringing them back?

 

In general the aftermath to the Six storyline has been a damp squib. When's Sharon back? Why has there been pretty much zero follow-up to Phil finding out about Albie?

 

Kat and Nish...just no.

 

Echoing other comments about the only shining light at the minute being Priya! I disliked her when she first arrived but I was howling at her comments the other night :lol:

Yup - Phil has not reacted to it at all! The 6 storyline just isn't wirking. The Xmas episodr was a food standalonw, but the ramifications to whst they did jusy won't work, ever, for them, and the storykine itself is a bif ol mess.

The storyline pacing just isn't working. We're hard pressed to focus on everyday life EE when Keanu is dead under the caff and none of them are even talking about it. I guess there's little flecks there e.g. Linda's alcoholism and Denise's depression but it's not enough to keep me really hooked.

 

Kim/Howie. What was that? I know a temp exit is coming up for them but why can't the storyline writers ever get a temporary exit storyline right? But it's Kim so it has to be bonkers doesn't it. Isn't this the second time she's been 'on a cruise' for her break from the show?

 

VERY glad Gina has woken up to Dean's behaviour and it was all thanks to Amy! Dean is awful and Matt very much knows how to play him well (definitely a Villain of the Year contender for the upcoming awards season).

 

Also I've seen that in a couple of weeks we will have

a brief Karen return

The Six storyline is hard to predict how it will eventually conclude unless they are taking the route of the effects on each person involved rather than actually revealing the body and someone going down for it.

I enjoyed Sam's final episodes but if she comes back again I'd love a role reversal which she comes back rich and powerful and lauds it over Phil, I am tired of Phil generally getting his way with everything.
