Following her debut album 'Fake It Flowers' in 2020, and her EP 'Our Extended Play' last year, beabadoobee has announced that her second album will be titled 'Beatopia'!

 

I presume it means that the lead single for it will be released soon. :cheer:

Second single 'See You Soon' released yesterday. Nothing massively different from her, but a cute bop :wub:

 

'Talk' is so good. I'm v excited for this album. 'Fake It Flowers' was a big surprise for me when I heard it at work upon it's release.

 

Still need to check the new one out, but I'm kinda happy we're getting another album with a similar sort of sound from her.

I've found her very hit or miss in general but 'See you Soon' is her best song since 'Care' for me! I liked 'Talk' as well (although it took a couple of listens to click properly).

 

I hadn't seen that album tracklist yet (must have skimmed this thread when it was posted), a PinkPantheress collab does sound interesting, should be something a little different for her at least. I wonder if 'Lovesong' is a cover of The Cure?

We’ll find out if it is a cover or not on Thursday as “Lovesong” is out then! I don’t think it will be though.

Surprised no one's talking about the album given it dropped a week ago now. She's always been a bit hit and miss for me but there's a few songs I like on the album, 'The Perfect Pair' probably being my favourite. I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions, thought she was a bit of a Buzzjack fave?

I need to get round to listening to this! I really liked a few of the songs on her last album.

Found this album a little disappointing after really enjoying all 4 of the singles but it does have a couple more highlights - the PinkPantheress collab works pretty well, 'the perfect pair' is certainly a standout too (liking the mini bossa nova trend of late following Billie Eilish and Bad Bunny both having a go at it too on their most recent albums) but I think my favourite album track is 'Don't get the deal' *.* everything else though I can very much take or leave, a few more decent tracks but also a good handful of snoozers sadly.

 

Noticed that 'the perfect pair' is actually already the 2nd most streamed song on the album only behind 'Talk', does that have some minor TikTok virality behind it or something?
