I’m not too bothered about a tribute on new Nows when a star passes but I can easily see how it’s not something you’d truly want to remember happening at the time.

I just wish they’d try to go with tracks that haven’t appeared before. There was a chance on Now 115 to feature Proud Mary instead of The Best again. I know the latter charted highest this year but Nows don’t exactly have to follow the charts these days.

It’s be nice to see the new S Club track on Now 116 as a tribute to Paul but also as it’s a new song by the group. As for Sinead, her biggest UK hits have already made the Now series so I guess they’d be stuck for a tribute.

I said that Proud Mary should’ve been included instead of The Best seeing as not only the latter is already on Now 16 but also, Now 16 will be re-released towards Christmas. When George Michael got included on Now 96, I said that they should’ve included Careless Whisper or A Different Corner instead of Fastlove. Sinéad on the other hand did have some other top 20 singles which missed the numbered series; Success Has Made A Failure Of Our Home missed Now 23 and Thank You For Hearing Me missed Now 30. I won’t say it missed Now 29 because they were both released on the same day. It would be nice to see S Club getting included not only as a tribute but because it’s also a brand new song

Now 115 has become the second numbered Now after Now 4 not to reach #1 in either the albums chart or compilation chart
Word on the street (well on the Facebook groups) is that Yearbook 73 is to be announced tomorrow.

If they wanna jump to random years, at least do 1987 or 1991 or another random year from the 90s. No one wants a 70s yearbook. Fans have been calling for a 1987 yearbook, not a 70s yearbook

They need to listen to the fans. Fans have been calling for a 1987 yearbook, not a 1973 yearbook. If they wanted to milk the 70s, they could’ve at least done 1977. I just hope that 1987 or 1991 (more preferably 1987) follows next

The only explanation is they already have the rights to the “cheaper” song licenses, and are able to use these now, but whereas the “more expensive” song licenses that they don’t yet have, such as Pet Shop Boys, are still trying to be negotiated behind the scenes to ensure that years like 1987 are correctly represented based on the main hits of the time.

Anyone who has another explanation I’m all ears.

I suspect Now want to play on the 50 year anniversary with the 1973 Yearbook, plus 70s music is quite a lucrative market for them and it's just in time for the festive season. I'll probably buy this but I can't say I'm particularly excited about it. Interesting to see the two recurrent Christmas classics stuck on the end though and not relegated to the Extra.

I don't think they'll ever get the license for Pet Shop Boys for the Yearbooks sadly :( PSB are very firm on the types of compilations they appear on, and compendiums of a year/decade are not usually their forté.

I’d rather have 1993 over 1973. And as for PSB not wanting to appear, they only had 4 songs in 1987. If not 1987, they could’ve done 1988 or 1989. We’ve had more 70s yearbooks this year than we’ve had 80s yearbooks. I’d rather they did Now Millennium 2002-2003. If they get low sales for 1973, it will make them rethink the 70s yearbooks

I wonder if any of the Barbie Movie songs will appear on NOW 116. Would love to see Dua Lipa, Ice Spice/Nicki Minaj/AQUA, and Charli XCX appear

If they do, they’ll just include the ones that made top 10; Charli, Dua, Billie and Nicki. Also, if they’re gonna release a spin-off to celebrate 40 years of Now, they should release it on 3rd November so they can release the next yearbook on 10th November followed by Now 116 and Now 16 on 17th November

Nothing wrong with a 1973 Yearbook for us 70's fans.

If they wanted to do a 70s yearbook, they could have at least gone with 1977. And the randomness doesn’t bother me. If I could choose between being sequential with 1977 or random with 1988, I’d rather they went random with 1988

Now Millennium 2002-2003 will be out on 29th September!

Pretty good but some random songs from Annie Lennox and John Mayer. And some unexpected choices like The Last Goodbye over The Tide is High for Atomic Kitten. George Michael/Wham! is definitely the new Queen - Disc 1, Track 1 or nowhere. Good to see Delta make an appearance with Born To Try!

I guess they're not doing those, as they couldn't even fill more than two CDs per year in the first place :(
With BEP, I’m surprised they included Shut Up instead of WITL. And why is George Michael always track 1? And with Will Young, I’d rather they included AIP instead of Evergreen as we never get the former which is the a side. Pretty decent tracklist but lack of trance on there. I do believe that they are a continuation from the millennium editions which were released in 1999

Evergreen is also the A side given that it’s a Double A Side.

Anyway I’m thrilled these are continuing! It’s out the day after my birthday so I’ll probably have to treat myself that weekend! Pleased to see a lot of the tracks there particularly One Day In Your Life, I was hoping for Anastacia to feature in this but I wasn’t she she would!
