Perfect timing to coincide with The Wanted's tour, as the 'Glad You Came' sampling track from Liilz reached the top 40 this week. The song has been going viral on TikTok and somehow managed to bag ZieZie for a guest verse on the official release.

 

It is a bit BTEC 'Coming For You' but it's nowhere near as bad as I was expecting based on the reaction I saw.

 

Kinda funny to hear even The Wanted aren't spared from songs getting "drill-fied". Makes me think the song borrowing/sampling recently has become too much or was too relied on though (not just this genre, also pop, dance, etc.) to make a hit or at least a memorable record.

 

In other words, I have mixed thoughts on this particular track. He sure changed the lyrics of a classic boy group pop song's anthemic chorus. :lol:

There are some appalling songs out there but this has probably got to be the worst of this ilk by far.

I quite like it but then I did LOVE the original so anything getting that chorus melody back in the charts is a plus.

Must say I am shocked at this tumbling down the charts now. When it made that massive jump from 35-17 it seemed inevitable this would be a huge top 10, especially following the tragic news which would have given it an even bigger boost.

honestly i thought the tragic news did the opposite for it, with people streaming the original wanted version of the song and this one being pushed aside

True that might have been what happened, thought it would boost both tbf.
