Fab top 2 really. It should have been the other way round imo, but it's still an amazing result. :w00t: :yahoo: :cheer:

Gezza deserves a rest but what's next? Number 2 of the 90's? :teresa:

Great top two, very glad to see PSB do so well here, and Take On Me, while not as beloved to me as many others, is a clear classic and a deserving winner.

Thanks a lot for running this Gezza, these rundowns - and seeing what people love - is always fascinating.

First of all, Gezza, what a wonderful countdown. You surely are the chartmaster. And, well, my 30 pointer won but I don´t think it is that much what won but what we revisited again.

Yes I plan on a 90s no 2 rate sometime in September so we can crown the winner for Christmas given that this one took 3 months to do !

An obvious winner but I was absolutely rooting for it when 'Vienna' dropped out, synth-pop perfection with an all-time classic video to boot

Thanks so much for running this Gezza, amazing work  looking forward to the 90s one in September!

An epic sweep of a classic. That said, I prefer Midge's Fade To Grey (with Visage) or his solo If I Was, and the George-Martin-produced Reap The Wild Wind is pretty fab too.

‘Dancing With Tears In My Eyes’ is another highlight for me!

Take on Me is great and class to see Wrighty and Powell introducing considering the events of this week!

So we might have Children in the end. :P

Congrats to A-ha :D expected winner, did win by a landslide I see

disappointed overall with the results, was expecting more curveballs and Madonna to be higher :D

What a landslide :cheeseblock: A deserved one naturally, it could've been a lot of songs as my 30 (and I suppose it didn't need the points), but none quite have stuck with me like that has, I discovered it way back in my mid-teens and it still is such a joyful and wonderfully produced track, will never get old for me.

Thanks for running this, very enjoyable as always! (I would love one of these for the 90s later if you have the time!)

Yes some kudos for Alan Tarney who produced Take On Me. Under-appreciated songwriter/producer who knocked off quite a few classics for Cliff during his golden period: We Don't Talk Anymore, Wired For Sound, and many others. He joined The Shadows during their Eurovision years, and applied a golden touch to a-ha's albums of the 80's and the 90's, most of Cliff's 80's albums, Saint Etienne's You're In A Bad Way, Pulp's Disco 2000, and some of the better stuff from leo Sayer and Barbara Dickson in the 80's, and notably David Cassidy's comeback album.
