Blue have announced their first album in seven years, 'Heart and Soul', and delayed their comeback tour.

The boy band - comprising Lee Ryan, Duncan James, Simon Webbe and Antony Costa - were due to embark on the 'Heart and Soul Tour' in September with Atomic Kitten.

The reunion shows are to mark two decades since the release of their chart-topping 2001 debut album, 'All Rise'.

However, due to "some very exciting plans to be announced in due course", they've been forced to push the dates back slightly to December.

The special guests for the new dates will be announced and all tickets will remain valid.

The run will now kick off on December 4 at Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena and conclude at Newcastle Utilita Arena on December 20.

The 'Breathe Easy' hitmakers have, however, confirmed their first LP since 2015's 'Colours' will arrive on September 9.

A press release teased that the four-piece "have been back together in the studio working on one of their best records yet."

In 2017, Simon, 43, confirmed he and his bandmates were back in the studio.

At the time, Lee, 38, was in 'EastEnders', Duncan, 44, in 'Hollyoaks' and 40-year-old Antony was appearing in an Agatha Christie play, so the boys had limited time to work on the new tunes.

He said then: "We're in the studio. We did the Sunshine Festival in Worcester. We're going to Latvia tomorrow. We're constantly working, at least two or three times a month."

'Heart and Soul' can be pre-ordered now by visiting Blue.lnk.to/preorder and will be available on CD, Vinyl and Cassette, as well as on all digital platforms.

Blue, one of the UK’s most exciting and successful boy bands are back with a new album, Heart & Soul, their first new album in 7 years. The British four-piece, including all 4 original members - Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe - have been back together in the studio working on one of their best records yet that both nods to the past while pushing things forward.

Blue have sold over 16 million albums worldwide including 3.6 million albums and 1.4 million singles in the UK. Their first 3 albums, All Rise, One Love and Guilty all topped the Official Album Chart and the group have worked with a variety of legends including Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Lil’ Kim. They recently announced a headline UK arena tour in December 2022 celebrating the new album and 20th Anniversary of their 4x platinum album All Rise, the 11 date tour includes a their first headline show at the iconic London venue The O2.

Blue, AKA Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan, and Simon Webbe, were one of the biggest and best boybands in an era bursting with them. Across three, multi-platinum chart-topping noughties albums, that showcased their mix of silky R&B, immaculate pop nous and pristine ballads, Blue – who formed in 2000 – shifted 16 million records worldwide, scooped two Brit awards and claimed 11 UK top hits, including three number ones, and now after 7 years, they are back with a new album that both nods to the past while pushing things forward.

For their sixth album Heart & Soul, the band were keen to give everything to make a record they are proud of. Their legacy is there with a mix of carefree, party-ready tracks, heartfelt ballads that showcases the band's top tier vocals and instantly classic-sounding bangers.

For this record the band worked with the man that signed them, industry legend and A&R miracle maker Hugh Goldsmith, and wrote with MNEK, song-writing and production team Dsign Music and producer Paul Visser, as well as covering a favourite from back in the day in the shape of 112's flirtatious 2001 R&B classic, Dance With Me.

So much of what makes Heart & Soul work is its through line from the past to the present. From classic Blue ballad to moments that sees them experiment with rockier textures. The linking element is always those four voices and an inherent awareness of what makes Blue tick. For the band, this is the first album in a while that has captured that early spirit so effortlessly and they're rightfully confident about it.

1 Haven’t Found You Yet

2 Dance With Me

3 This Could Be Love

4 Let’s Get Sad

5 Heart & Soul

6 Man Do

7 Magnetic

8 Gravity

9 Ultraviolet

10 Stop

They've also done this video which gently pokes fun at - well, you'll see what I mean when you watch it. Good on them for having a sense of humour!

Can't wait to hear what MNEK has done with them!

An indie called ‘Tag8 Music’

They licensed the album to BMG though.

Did they ever break up though? They reunite constantly.

It's set up by their management it seems - who was also the bassist player for Bros.

And as has been said, it's licensed/distributed via BMG.

Did they ever break up though? They reunite constantly.

Their last album was eight years ago - and the video I posted above is them making fun of that very perception.

Good on them for doing that though. That has always been the common media narrative around them ever since they split up "Blue are all washed up / broke / has-beens" etc.

It's oftentimes overshadowed the music and their legacy in that respect so if they're reclaiming that by approaching it with humour that's refreshing and actually really admirable.

Spent the last hour racking my brains trying to think of the song this really reminds me of (because it's a tune I haven't heard in quite a while), and it's this:

Thank you! I was trying to put my finger on what it reminded me of - and I loved this song too.

I'm guessing there's no chance of it going Top 100 with it being a midweek release.

Something tells me the release date isn't likely to make much difference with this one :P

If N-Dubz can get a top 40 single then I'm sure Blue could have made the top 100 with a traditional Friday release (given that the song seems to have had a fairly positive reception so far).
