What’s the expectation for 2step, do we think it’s gonna challenge for #1? Or just a first week top 10 peak then flop like TJATQ

I don't think I'd necessarily predict it to even make the top 10, 'The Joker And The Queen' already proved that merely slapping another artist onto a song that not many people care about won't automatically turn it into a huge hit, and Lil Baby is hardly Taylor Swift anyway. (I can't really picture how Lil Baby is going to make any sense at all on this particular song unless it's being quite radically overhauled - surely would have made more sense to get someone like Craig David or something lol). Then again I guess the bar for the top 10 is pretty historically weak so it could get there for a week with help from the Ed signature collectors, I'd be pretty surprised if it was even remotely close to #1 though.

Massive snooze at the charts this week, I'm here for Ed to just get another week at #1 by default on the album chart if it means blocking Digga D though. And I guess I wouldn't mind seeing 'Freaky Deaky' make the top 40, it's pretty trash but I'm lying if I say I don't kind of bop to it (strictly Doja's parts only, there is no reason for Tyga to exist in 2022).

I've never heard of that venbee song scraping into the top 100 (is it charting on any of the major platforms or just scraping in while bubbling under everywhere?) but some quick Googling is telling me it's yet another drum n bass song, the revival continues.

oh my 4K for #1 and it's already Tue mids, Equals did 6.3K last week, probably lower this week, so new low record incoming possibly

I think 2step becoming a hit depends on how Spotify treats it, if it gives it the royal treatment like The Joker then it will be a big hit for sure

Sales are so low that just with the CD singles alone it could go top 10

Says it all when there's more excitement in the 41-50 region than the top 40 :kink: at least 'Freaky Deaky' is a decent addition.

I have been finding that for a while now tbh. Where the charts are much slower now, I would love to see a move on radio 1 from top 40 to top 50. At least they will have more opportunity to show new entries/re-entries from that point down.

Yeah or skip a few more of the very long runners in the Top 40 and play a few breakers like Middle Of The Night and Dandelions.

Band song that 4 years old only way gone mr brightside out chart can not remember that song left chart almost top 50 this week
I'd say even a top 100 would be nice, a bit like Billboard

But why is Ed releasing a single with Lil Baby added? makes no sense

when there's such a huge amount of British rappers that would be much more appealing to the UK market

all these ArrDee, AJ Tracey, Central Cee, Aitch... any of those would be better than Lil Baby

lol baby is huge huge deal in america so clearly he’s trying for their market in the knowledge that uk will eat anything he puts out regardless.
Disappointed by Ed's decision to have an American rapper over a UK rapper on 2step's remix especially when he said the track was influenced by garage. He's given a lot back to urban UK music over the years. Lil Baby is probably top 3 rapper/hip hop artist in America right now so it "makes sense" in that case.
Sales are not particularly low in top ten right now. Actually Ed has to sell 20k to go top ten.

20k is pretty terrible for #10 isn't it? (Having said that I see the bar for #10 has actually gone up again since a couple of weeks ago so I take back my comment about it being 'historically' low).

Does the US have an official chart (or even an unofficial) US chart show on broadcast media that plays or reviews the top 100? I know there are various Youtube videos from the likes of Billboard Top Songs which I follow religiously each week (too much time on my hands!) that play excerpts from the entire top 100

In the UK, we do have an OCC top 100 of course but it's not played anywhere official like Radio 1 although there are of course again YouTube channels that play excerpts from all 100 traicks.

NO OTHER SALES INFO

Indeed looks like Digga will pass the low bar of not having the lowest sales for a #1 album ever, but it seems likely this will actually open with lower sales than his previous mixtape did, he's been very lucky to be able to find such a dead week to snatch a #1 here.
