Result: Did Not Qualify from Semi Final 2: 24th place.

Cameron’s Bio:

Hello!

My name is Cameron Pye I am 26 and I am from Stoke-On-Trent

‘My parents desperately tried to use their devotion for rock music to influence me but instead they produced a synth addicted, electro pop music loving boy. I often wonder how I got to this moment, like right here now writing this bio.

I’ve always loved to sing, ever since I was a little boy. I always had a new karaoke machine or a little stereo for Christmas, I was always GLUED to The Brit Awards every year. My earliest memory of music was watching The Spice Girls perform without Geri at The Brits in 2000, I was 5. I have a burning passion for performing and entertaining people, to make them smile and have fun.

My album Roses [on which you can find Body Wants] broke me when I was writing it and then put me back together again. It’s magical listening to it and I KNOW it will help people in some way. I have never been prouder of anything in my entire life.

I tried to give you some points to help with your entry but it seems that it wasn’t meant to qualify on this occasion, but I did enjoy it anyway! Please stick with it and send us your next best discovery! :cheer:

Thank you! I’ve got a proper pop bop for next time (as long as it fits the criteria anyway!!)

Thank you so much to everybody who voted for Yobnedorica in the final of BJSC 146 where we placed a respectable 20th out of 41! A huge thanks to FARC who gave us our first 18!

Also thank you to everybody who voted us through Semi Final 2, but especially to Niceland for our 12 points!

My next entry has its work cut out!

I've seen Ladytron across the site in the past all the way back to 2008 (I think they were #1 in Martin's (Kylienips) chart a lot however I never checked any of their stuff out so this was a discovery for me and was a great song choice. Made 106 in the UK that year too!

Hopefully we'll cross paths with voting one another soon! Well done on top 20!

0.5 points Zanmatony! ;)

I’m looking forward to what you send next time. I wonder if it will be a more recent song or some blast from the past again, either way I find it’s good to mix it up!

I do spot a 15 pointer in 145 though!!

And you definitely, DEFINITELY didn’t deserve last place this time!

In answer to your statement about the next song - it’s a song that fits somewhere in between the two ;)

Yobnedorica is back after a month’s absence!

Riding on the wave of their last entry which hit the top twenty, Yobnedorica sends a similar, slightly more commercial band in the form of Goldfrapp with their album track - Become The One!

Result: DNQ from Semi Final 1: 23rd place.

Goldfrapp Bio (from Wiki!)

Goldfrapp is an English electronic music duo from London, formed in 1999. The duo consists of Alison Goldfrapp (vocals, synthesiser) and Will Gregory (synthesiser).

Despite favourable reviews and a short-listing for the Mercury Prize, their 2000 début studio album Felt Mountain did not chart highly. Goldfrapp's second album Black Cherry, which incorporated glam rock and synth-pop sounds into their music, was released in 2003. The album influenced the same dance-oriented sound of their third album Supernature. Supernature took Goldfrapp's work further into dance music, and enjoyed international chart success. The album produced three number-one US dance singles, and was nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Album at the 49th Grammy Awards.

Their fourth album Seventh Tree placed a greater emphasis on ambient and downtempo music, drawing inspiration from nature and paganism, while their fifth album, Head First, found the group exploring 1980s-influenced synth-pop. Head First also earned the duo their second Grammy Award nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2010. Goldfrapp released their critically acclaimed sixth studio album, the folktronica-influenced Tales of Us, in September 2013. Goldfrapp released their seventh studio album, Silver Eye, in March 2017, which debuted at number six on the UK Albums Chart.
