And they’re still going, up to Track 19 now :yahoo:
I very rarely like albums with that many tracks :( why not just whittle it down to the 12 best tracks and make it an amazing album? The rest can be saved for a deluxe.
Loads of pre-album singles then! 'Me, Myself & I' is decent though maybe not quite up there with 'Complete Mess'.

14 songs on the standard, 5 more on the deluxe! Formats here: https://5sosstore.co.uk/

Sifting through all the bundles, there's four formats:

Standard CD

Deluxe CD

Cassette

Opaque White Vinyl

I thought that was a bit restrained, however there are different colour vinyl from other retailers!

Amazon: Brick Red Vinyl

HMV: Coke Bottle Green

Urban Outffiters: Candy Floss

Banquet: Transparent Turquoise

Walmart: Light Blue (not sure if this is sold out or just temporarily unavailable)

Indies: Opaque Brown Vinyl

Bone Vinyl

There'll seemingly be a Spotify "Whirlpool" version too.

I'm leaning towards the Banquet version!

I only just noticed that '2011' isn't on the album! Maybe it was common knowledge that it was always going to be a stand alone but I didn't realise.

Another GRAT, Blender released yesterday. By far my favourite this era so far!

'BLENDER' is easily their best song since 'Youngblood' for me! Can see it being quite an earworm ~

Not sure when all of these formats were added to the store but there's so many more now than there was back in May!

The new album is out now!

I watched their Royal Albert Hall live stream a few hours ago and they were brilliant, and the new songs all sounded epic. Looking forward to listening to the album asap.

Finished my first listen, overall I’m very impressed with the quality. I was very worried about a 19 Track Album being full of fillers, and it’s not. But, there are definitely 3 or 4 tracks they could have dropped.

Outside the singles, my standouts on first listen are Bad Omens, Carousel, Caramel, Best Friends, Flatline, Bloodhound and TEARS!

The album is waaaay too long. The songs all kind of blended into each other which isn't what you want if you're going to put out a 19-track album, you need some diversity. There are some good tracks buried in there somewhere but I honestly couldn't tell you which ones they are now and I don't feel an urge to sit through the whole album again
It's a great album from start to finish, though I do agree it's too long. I wasn't sure at which point the deluxe tracks began but the standard 14 track album is mostly the best tracks so I'll probably mostly stick to that for repeat listens. I really like most of it though - Easy for You to Say, HAZE and Caramel stood out to me most on one play in addition to the already great singles (especially Me Myself & I )
5SOS5 is midweek #3 with 4,143 sales - that's very underwhelming by their previous standards! CALM started at midweek #1 with 19,197. So they've barely sold a fifth of that so far.

Bizarrely the prices of their formats on their official store have all increased  That's not going to help them out!

For instance their individual member artwork cassettes are up from £9 to £12 and the CD versions are up from £15 to £18

I find 'CALM' lot more enjoyable. That album sounded like a "modern classic", when compared to this.

'5SOS5', while has great moments, has few too many songs and can be too chill and ambient and boring at times. But maybe it's not fair expecting another 'CALM' or something. (e.g. I wasn't sure what to think of 'COMPLETE MESS' few months ago, I find it actually cool now hearing it again.)

I was fully invested in the ‘CALM’ era - buying all the formats and loving the music, this era has felt flat and a bit of a non-event from the beginning, I’ve got a vinyl but certainly not as interested this time.
