June 11Jun 11 Rumoured to be an announcement coming soon, whether related or not it's also rumoured that Disney are gone and that Amazon Prime will be the new streaming partner for the show moving forward. Very intrigued if this is true. Prime seems like the most reliable streaming service to partner up with given you don't exactly hear much about them being cutthroat with cancellations or trying to be the one and only dominant platform with all the keys to the kingdom.
June 12Jun 12 Why does they even need a streaming service partner? The show doesn't need a big budget, just focus on quality storytelling which has been missing for years! They need to get rid of RTD imo, he keeps cheapening the show by bringing back old actors just for the headlines.

August 21Aug 21 No update still but reassuring news directly from the BBC that Doctor Who is 100% continuing on the BBC, "with or without Disney".The War Between the Land and the Sea will now air in 2026, which feels like a good way to bridge the gap between Who seasons.

August 21Aug 21 I do think they need to move in a different direction now after this 'break' (aka severing ties with RTD) if we end up with a special/specials/a full series in 2027 or beyond. Having this divisive cliffhanger hanging over the show as the last thing we'll have had from it in a while isn't going to do them any favours. Bring in a new showrunner, have the regeneration glitch in different ways until we arrive at the face of the new Doctor, and move on with a fresh start.
August 21Aug 21 I do think at this point we need to at least have a special with Billie piper, even if they do go down the glitch route, it will feel like a major cop out otherwise. If we hadn't seen her face and it was left ambiguous it would of been a lot easier to "start a fresh"
August 21Aug 21 The show's continued to perform well under RTD so I'm not sure there's any incentive for the BBC to push for a new showrunner, and RTD's spoken of having plans for at least another couple of seasons, so I'd be surprised to see a change in leadership any time soon. The ratings are a more valuable tool than the loudest voices on Twitter, after all!
