May 26, 20223 yr I think one of the songs is a tribute to Jamal Edwards that he's releasing a music video for (although that might be an unrelated song, I don't think it's been confirmed) so that might make some impact but I doubt the other new songs will do much, deluxe tracks rarely do.

True but this is Ed Sheeran we're talking about! I'm always prepared to be surprised where he's concerned. Weren't the deluxe editions of his previous albums released on the same day as the standard editions rather than later? Or am I misremembering that?

I think 'x' is his only other album that had an expanded version released after the original album (the 'Wembley Edition', so basically the same as what he's doing with this album) and none of the additional tracks from that charted at all. That was a fairly low key / non-promoted re-release though iirc. Not sure how much he's going to be pushing this one. 2 of the new songs are just tracks from the 'Yesterday' film that are finally being released now so I guess it's possible there might be some pent up demand from people waiting 3 years to be able to stream those? Not sure why they've taken so long to get a proper release.

They always do that when an album is out... they pick one of the songs and put it in the single catrgory
May 27, 20223 yr 'One Life' is only track 38 on New Music Friday which suggests Ed isn't really pushing anything from this re-release. (Not sure if this means the Jamal Edwards tribute is a separate song that'll be released later then - 'One Life' definitely isn't that song as it's several years old).
