It is somewhat more diverse of a starting line up then the past couple series so that’s a good start . I’m use to it being filled blondes and brunettes for the women ,majority of the same looking white men and then one maybe two if we’re lucky POC .

Not planning on watching a single second of this but I just found out Michael Owen's daughter is going on this show. Calling it now that she wins the whole thing.

On another note I can't believe how matured she looks for someone who was born in 2003 and only just turned 19 this month :o!

I always assumed after Big Brother UK got shafted that Love Island would be THAT SHOW, it was for a hot minute but it definitely lost its charm.

I couldn't stomach finishing last year. Season 6 was great, but with the pandemic it was impossible for them to keep the momentum going.

A million more of these shows have popped up and from what I'm hearing, they do it a lot better. I was more or less watching for the drama, but I think I'll stick to the rest what I'm watching for fulfillment here. Great to see more diversity, it's about time...

I would have liked if they chose who they wanted and then they were told who they would actually be with :P that would have ruffled the feathers.

That’s exactly what should of happened they missed an opportunity there !

Progressive voting from the public - putting the white men with the white women and the POC men with the POC women.

I think i'm going to be 1 show and i'm done with this

Yeah I didn’t really appreciate that, so stereotypical.

I’m really liking Indiyah so far and disliking Gemma!

Yeah I just knew they would put the two black girls with the two black boys .

Indiyah is definitely my favourite so far and Tasha seems sweet . Gemma didn’t come across great at all and I think she’s way too young to even be on this show . She’s 19 and she’s trying to get with Davide the Italian man who is 27 I believe . It should be 21 and over to be on the show imo .

From Lizo Mzimba on Twitter:

"The new series of Love Island launched with an audience of 2.45 million last night on ITV2, slightly down on the 2.47 million who watched the launch of the 2021 series"

Loving Ekin-Su as well! Hoping one of the new boys can spice things up a bit. Amber and Indiyah seem a bit bored in their couples
