So why are people buying, downloading and streaming these songs?

Of course, "dance" is used very loosely to describe the new Calvin Harris single.

What others can you think of which have gained traction so far this year?

lol you posted like 2 of the only good dance songs of the year lol

all the Guetta, Becky, Ella ones are terrible, especially 21 Questions, easily worst dance song of the year

Honestly, I never understand the hype of UK House at all since Joel Corry's "Head & Heart" became that massive. Some of them are OK (especially if it's made by a nameless artist), but most of them are just meh.

Have read several old festival song threads and I wish Buzzjack members were still hyping for festival music like they used to do in 2012-2018.

I'm glad people were hyping for the DnB's chart comeback. Way much better than having only UK House in it.

The new Calvin and Dua is so groovy and an EARWORM! A grower and perfect for summer.

I don't get the hype for the basic, Love Island-lite plinky plonky "do do do" dance songs that currently make the top 40 all the time. That sort of music goes straight over my head

I don't get 'Still Sleepless' myself but it hasn't made the top 40. A bit of a non event that song. LF System is an odd one to include though. Sounded a lot more inspired and upbeat, also musically and vocally interesting than a lot of these wishy washy bland dance tracks filling up the chart.

Obviously two obvious ones are Belters and Luude. 'What Would You Do' is another one though. Nothing more than average. Seems the only good song he did was 'Head & Heart'.

Every single thing Joel Corry has been involved with, no wonder each one flopped.

But worst of all, that Belters Only track. I thoroughly despise it in a visceral sense.

Well the latest what I am guessing you mean by 'festival sounding dance' hit was Shouse - Love Tonight (David Guetta Remix) - I was hoping that would lead to a trend for that sort of dance back in the charts but it didn't :(

That’s your opinion, the fact you can’t even get the name of the song correct sums it up really, I know plenty people on here that really like these songs lol.

For me, that new Calvin Harris song shouldn’t even be classed as dance, very poor effort from him.

I’m more into the indie style dance these days like Fred Again(wait for someone to laugh that they aren’t indie) but generally songs that sound ‘different to what’s in the chart currently. But then I sometimes love a basic bop for example the current Jax Jones is pure standard but I like it!
