August 24, 20222 yr Author It’s officially out on Monday! Hopefully it does well for them, it seems to have some TikTok hype behind it.
August 26, 20222 yr It’s officially out on Monday! Hopefully it does well for them, it seems to have some TikTok hype behind it. I've got Wednesday as it's Hottest Record on R1
August 26, 20222 yr Author Oops for some reason I read Aug 29th  I’m glad it’s closer to the next charting week then!
August 28, 20222 yr I've got Wednesday as it's Hottest Record on R1 When’s the last time they got HR treatment on R1? Thought ‘Cracker Island’ would have been perfect for the daytime playlist but was given decent support on the evening shows!
August 29, 20222 yr Nice didn’t realise it made it to HR, getting decent support this era then I guess!
August 30, 20222 yr Author An upcoming song titled ‘Baby Queen’ has been revealed via the leaked FIFA 23 soundtrack.
August 31, 20222 yr Their new album is called Cracker Island and it will be out on February 24. @1565029147415568388
August 31, 20222 yr 2/2 so far this era *.* consider me hyped for Bad Bunny and Stevie Nicks collabs on the way too - the range!
August 31, 20222 yr Argh Gorillaz/Bad Bunny is quite an unexpected crossover but very hyped for that! Feels very early for a tracklist to be dropping when the album isn't out until February but hey. Here is said tracklist btw: 1 Cracker Island (feat. Thundercat) 2 Oil (feat. Stevie Nicks) 3 The Tired Influencer 4 Tarantula 5 Silent Running (feat. Adeleye Omotayo) 6 New Gold (feat. Tame Impala and Bootie Brown) 7 Baby Queen 8 Tormenta (feat. Bad Bunny) 9 Skinny Ape 10 Possession Island (feat. Beck) Not quite as stacked feature wise as the last album but still a pretty solid bunch of features. I wonder if we will still get a Season Two of Song Machine at some point, now it's confirmed this era is abandoning that.
September 1, 20222 yr wow lots of interesting collaborations, Stevie Nicks would be a sample I'd assume??
September 1, 20222 yr Author Not necessarily! She’s released solo music fairly recently, and featured on a Maroon 5 song last year.
September 3, 20222 yr Don’t think I’ve thought that much of their music since their 2017 return but I’ve really vibed to this and ‘Cracker Island’.
September 9, 20222 yr Author New Gold debuted at #56 today. Thus just surpassing Momentary Bliss’ #56 peak and making it their highest charting single since ‘Doncamatic’ in 2010! It’s also Tame’s highest charting single, just beating Breathe Deeper’s #59 peak. It is strange to think that BD is his highest charting though.
September 9, 20222 yr I had actually forgotten that 'Breathe Deeper' got as high as #59 before checking it the other day (I remembered that 2 or 3 songs from 'The Slow Rush' charted but for some reason thought they were only low top 100 - which the other two were, 'Borderline' at #78 and 'Lost In Yesterday' at #89, 'Patience' also got to #79 before that). I imagine 'The Less I Know The Better' may have a chance at getting a belated top 100 peak for some reason or other eventually? But yeah, I don't really think of Tame Impala as being much of a singles act at all really. Impressive showing for this although it further raises the question of why they weren't able to have sustained chart entries from the last era, of course 'Momentary Bliss' charted but I don't think any of the other singles came particularly close? I guess Tame Impala is a slightly more attention grabbing name than most of the other collaborators from Song Machine.
September 11, 20222 yr I think that ‘Cracker Island’ was well received and this has done better due to that.
September 12, 20222 yr Author The Tame Impala factor definitely helped though, I saw a lot of hype for it on TikTok due to it being a Gorillaz x Tame collab.
September 14, 20222 yr Author What will it be like with the Stevie Nicks collab then!! As much as I like her, Tame are definitely a bigger name among the Gen Z TikTok crowd.
