Off the strength of Padam Padam, as well as two formats being sold out, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was higher by this point.

I have to say from a collector point of view I really hope there isn’t ‘lots more’ - it’s already available on 11 variants across vinyl, CD and cassette, as has as many as ‘Disco’ had.

 

I hope all that’s to come is signed CDs and Vinyl, and possibly a deluxe vinyl at most.

An indication of how strong pre-orders are perhaps? Current availability at Rarewaves *.*

No, I meant 11 but on checking my orders their are 13 variants (14 if you include the test pressing)

I think Tension will have far bigger pre-orders than DISCO due to these two factors:

1. The consumption behaviour gears even more towards the pre-ordering than in 2020, even despite going out of COVID. Also Tension had one extra month of pre-orders;

2. Obviously Padam Padam’s and Tension’s success, which both got much more attention than Say Something and Magic, has generated extra pre-orders for Tension (the album).

 

I can see it starting with like 45k on Monday and going to around 60-65k by Friday.

The conversion rate between hits and no hits will be interesting.

Thereoetically it should result in higher sales but in today's music climate it doesn't always happen.

That said, I think Tension will debut with very healthy sales.

Will be interesting to see how it starts off - 2 of my friends have ordered the CD on Amazon, they’ve never really been Kylie fans or passed comment on Golden/Disco but were all over PP that made them seek out the album.

Lots of those vinyls though could have been snapped up by fans overseas. Lets see what we get in the first mids

 

I hope they go all out with promo on week 1, even if just small TV interviews like BBC News, Lorraine, Sunday Brunch, This Morning, Loose women, Sky News etc. The One Show and Strictly possibilities too
