I will buck the trend and say I'd like it to be in Manchester, the AO arena would make for a huge Eurovision.

I am team Manchester too and after the fuss over presenting our votes from there this year, I suspect it's probably the BBC's preferred choice going into the bidding process so let's see how they go.

Although for the convenience of being able to stay with family if accommodation prices are too extortionate, my top choice (outside of London which outside of convenience would mean no holiday for me :kink:), is Sheffield xx

Of course the one year the UK hosts is also the one year I'll be living in mainland Europe  can definitely see the BBC going for Manchester as they already do so much there, hopefully it still gets to be a celebration of Ukraine's win (at least one of the hosts being from there, plus interval stuff and postcards) rather than Union Flags all over the place.

I'm rooting for Cardiff - Please not Glasgow / Manchester - which are the obvious choices (I couldn't bear to see Sturgeon lording it up). I wouldn't mind it going to Liverpool.

I'd be happy for Cardiff or Liverpool - both have deep roots in the UK's musical heritage (I know Manchester does too)

When it’s in Scotland I’ll start the petition for Sturgeon to be a presenter in a saltire pant suit. Just for you x

Cardiff is a non-starter, it’s too far from an actually useful airport so fails the EBU criteria.

Realistic is Glasgow/Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, London, Newcastle (although that’s pushing it a little on the airport side but tbh so is Liverpool but at least it’s connected by rail to MAN)

I’m hearing strong rumours about Cardiff hosting - with Vick Hope and Owain Wyn Evans as presenters - might just be nothing though

well, given Paris is nearer to me than half the UK, I'm hoping the list is very short: London or Birmingham.

Or, to be fair, whichever place is most easily accessible in the UK from most parts of the UK. That's Manchester but Liverpool would be acceptable, 2 airports not that far away, sea access, and me and my family can get free accommodation with friends, which I think we can all agree is the best reason :teresa:

As a tribute to Olivia Newton-John, it should clearly go to the city where she performed Long Live Love as the UK entry - Brighton. The city has applied although there, sadly, isn't really a suitable venue. The football stadium has been suggested but I'm not sure how feasible it would be to build a temporary roof while also maintaining maximum capacity for the football while the work is going on. The other suggestion has been to build a temporary structure on the beach.
Would Brighton have enough hotel capacity? It's not exactly overrun with lots of rooms, every time I want to stay overnight the only thing available is B&Bs in Kemptown with a few rooms. Especially as it would clash with The Great Escape festival in mid May.
I’m from Leeds but our airport (technically Leeds-Bradford) is terrible and has hopeless connections to the city centre - my vote would be for Manchester.

Shortlist is out:

Birmingham

Glasgow

Leeds

Liverpool

Manchester

Newcastle

Sheffield

pretty much as expected, still calling Manchester and Glasgow as frontrunners

Why couldn't they have hosted it somewhere more convenient than UK in terms of not needing to get a visa? :')
