Juventus earned their first Champions League win this season over Maccabi Haifa thanks to an inspirational display from Angel Di Maria.

He set up Adrien Rabiot's double and Dusan Vlahovic's strike to give Juve their first points.

However Juve still face an uphill task to reach the last 16 as they trail PSG and Benfica by four points in Group H.

And then beat lastnyt by them, Juve in danger of missing out!
Rangers and Celtic in the champions league is like Andorra and San Marino in Euros qualifying. So so far out of their depth...

There’s a huge difference/inequality in spending power which causes that though. It’s a far cry from 20 years ago. Getting to the group stages considering they have to play 8 games to get there is the achievement for Scottish clubs.

Barcelona have been knocked out at the group stage for the 2nd consecutive season and will drop into the Europa League. If you told someone back in 2009-2012 that within the next decade Barcelona would be knocked out at the group stage two seasons in a row they would have laughed in your face.

Real Madrid and Liverpool will play each other again in the last 16. Real Madrid have knocked Liverpool out in 3 out of the past 5 seasons, if Jurgen Klopp really wants to book that hotel for Istanbul he's gonna have to find a way to end this losing steak they've got against Madrid.

Last 16 Draw:

RB Leipzig v Manchester City

Club Bruges v Benfica

Liverpool v Real Madrid

AC Milan v Tottenham

Frankfurt v Napoli

Borussia Dortmund v Chelsea

Inter Milan v Porto

Paris St-Germain v Bayern Munich

Gotta be in it to win it Houdini!

Probably the toughest draw we could have got though and in the last 16 too! We owe them one though can’t see us winning the way we are currently playing!

I think Bayern would be tougher, but yeah, not an easy tie at all. That said, I’d much rather play Madrid over 2 legs than in a one off final. Last year we had a fairly kind draw, but in 2019 when we won it we had the harder draw.

Eintracht Frankfurt fans have been banned from their Champions last-16 second-leg tie against Napoli after incidents in the first leg.

The first leg in Frankfurt on 21 February had been categorised as high risk by police and there were some clashes between fans before the match.

Gonna have to watch completely as a neutral this season :(

Jurgen Klopp told Liverpool fans to book the hotel for Istanbul after last season's final ended, he must have been talking in jest of course but you wouldn't bet against it actually happening. Can't imagine Real Madrid retaining it and another failure to win this trophy for Manchester City is incoming.

Unless Liverpool do something crazy tonight looks like the hotel wont get booked this time. This might actually be the season for Man City to win the competition, the overall line up looks a lot weaker than previous years for the latter stages.

Real are so good under Ancelotti in the Champions League. They definitely can be got at with a high intensity and suffering the defence. Liverpool did well for 20 minutes before they tired in the first leg. But there's so much experience, nous and Vinicious has improved so much. Real are the ones to beat still, although I'd absolutely love for Napoli to do it.
Very interesting draw for the quarter finals and semi finals. Couldn't have turned out much better as a neutral. Almost certain that there will be an Italian club in the final this season.

Champions League quarter-final draw:

Real Madrid v Chelsea

Inter Milan v Benfica

Manchester City v Bayern Munich

AC Milan v Napoli

Good to see the big league teams drawn together!

Shows how £ has skewed things so much when the Italian league isn’t seen as a big league.
