Good evening and welcome to the next stage of Club Bizarre Vol.20: Dark. We have received 24 entries and there were no vetoes but a LOT of inspiration; we're in for a ride with this set of songs, which between them cover just about every definition of dark you could care to think of.

 

While we are in the middle of summer with the hot weather and long days, there is never a bad time for a menacing soundtrack, but play these after dark to your peril - some are very spooky and unsettling indeed. And here are the creepy double dozen:

 

 

Please submit your votes to me (gooddelta) via PM in Eurovision format: 12 points (for your favourite), 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and finally 1 point for your 10th favourite. You cannot vote for your own entry.

 

As a reminder, this is an anonymous contest. Please don't reveal your entry - I will do that during the results. Speculation is welcome though, as of course is discussion!

 

The deadline is Sunday 24th July 2022 at 11.59pm BST, and the results will be on either the following evening or Tuesday 26th July.

A lot of names I recognise from past BJSC entries here (and said BJSC entries were pretty much all great so that's a good sign). I don't think I'm particularly familiar with any of these songs, there are a couple where the title is ringing a bell so I may have heard them before but that's all!

As an aside, I've been informed that Vater Unser is on Spotify under a different artist name, but is the same song, so I've added it to the playlist! Apart from the video version of Empyrean not being available on there, everything is present and correct.

Would anyone be interested in a listenthrough this evening from 8pm? I don’t mind hosting. It’s probably the only chance I’ll have to do so given the two BJSC semi listenthroughs that likely will happen this coming week.

 

If there is interest in a listenthrough this evening post here so I can know. ^_^

I will probably miss the start of this if it's tonight but I can be there for most of it and just play the first few songs at the end.
