I was searching for ‘Sex, Drugs, Etc’ on Beach House’s Spotify page before I realised it’s not them :lol:

 

 

Coldplay currently the act with the most songs in the top 200 on Spotify due to their tour effect - I noticed that this honour was belonging to Arctic Monkeys for some reason the other day, quite surprising just how many songs they have that still get such strong residual streams. None from their most recent album of course lol ~

Arctic Monkeys are playing Reading and Leeds soon so will probably get another streaming boost on their back catalogue.

 

If only they would get a move on with this new album.

Many AM songs have gone viral on tiktok in the last couple years, thats why they have so many in the top 200, not now, it's been like that for ages

 

great tour effect for Coldplay, and good thing they don't have a GH, so people go buy/stream all their albums :D

Coldplay only have their latest album top 100 in the mids though - most of their albums only have 1 or 2 heavily streamed tracks, so those are downweighted when it comes to album streams - while if they were all on the same greatest hits album, most of those streams would count.

 

Whereas the albums AM and Whatever People Say I Am... were fixtures of the album chart long before the Tik Tok virality, possibly because a number of tracks from each come up on a lot of playlists.

sure but if I were a label i'd rather have 1,000 real vinyl sales than all the fake album streams in the world

chart positions of GH mean nothing if its based on streams alone
