82 in the official chart today. I've not really listened to anything of Darren's in a long time but that's horrendous after starting at 18 on Monday :(

Aside from the fact that the album title will have been unappealing to some of his older generation of fans, I think the album suffers from being too lengthy and the songs on them too long. Most songs these days are generally around the three minute mark or shorter to make them more streaming-friendly and a lot of these songs are 8 or 9 minutes. I have to admit I prefer an album to be around 40 minutes unless it's something totally amazing which this sadly isn't - although there are a handful of decent songs, I prefer his earlier albums over this and I can't see myself going back to it.
Music Week didn't give an exact figure because it wasn't top 75, but going by figures given for a few positions above it, it would have sold roughly 1,500 copies. Pretty dire really.
Well I’ve listened to the album 4-5 times now. I really like the singles - let’s try being in love has really grown on me. All you pretty things is brilliant and my favourite track on the album. However, it’s not my favourite album of his by any stretch and some of the tracks are way too long and not keen on his voice on other tracks.
how much did it sell?

On Wednesday’s update when it was at #40 it had sold 1,405 copies - based on where it ended up on Friday can’t see a major amount being added to that total?

I thought an act like Darren might have been able to do a little bit better than #82, that's a shame. Although he seems glad to have put out an important and healing album for him which is the main thing.

It’s been 10 years since his last album though and sadly with virtually no promotion, the album was always likely to struggle but I thought it would have made T75 at least.

Apparently 'Homosexual' translated to straight is 'Barebacking Doublefisting Pig Fag' judging by some of the straight (or gay) up homophobic overreactions in this thread. "I don't care what gays do behind closed doors, just don't expose me to it" realness. This is not ok.
I listened to secret codes and battleships today - this is a great album!
It's not brave. It's desperate and looking for attention, in my opinion.

It's as if there is nothing more to him than his sexual orientation.

I'd say this is pretty gross?

Thats right. Imagine the other way around. I release my new album and call it Heterosexual

And this
