April 14, 20241 yr Big opportunity squandered for Liverpool today! Gonna have to hope City don't go on their trademark end of season winning streak now. What happened to Liverpool this week? :o We were always the weakest of the other two teams and have been decimiated by injuries. It's been common place of our season that we are just so wasteful. We create laods of chances, but just haven't been able to finish them. Coupe this with the fact we don't control games and have seemingly begun to start games poorly again, reciple for disaster. We can't keep giving goals way early on and getting away with it, it comes back to bite you on the ass, like today proved. Klopp looks like he's done too. On the plus side, a trophy and Champions League for next season is brilliant. Expecting a transition next season with a new manager, but clear as day we have areas where we really need to improve in terms of personnel. Endo's been great this season, but really showed his limitations in the last two games and our inability to build through midfield.

April 14, 20241 yr Who would your preference for the league be Houey? I know your no city Liverpool or arsenal fan from your posts? I don't have a preference for the league. Only thing I'd say is that if City won it then it would be an unprecedented 4th in a row for them, whilst if Liverpool won it they would draw level with Man Utd on overall league titles but it would not be an outright historic achievement for them. But really there's no good outcome from my own perspective.
April 14, 20241 yr I guess Liverpool have taken over from United as englands most successful club recently but be nice to equal your league record.
April 15, 20241 yr I’m talking about overall trophies 😁 remember we have double the amount of European cups you guys have 😜
April 24, 20241 yr Author Feyenoord's Arne Slot is a leading candidate to take over as Liverpool manager from Jurgen Klopp. Klopp announced in January he would leave Anfield at the end of the season and the Reds have been conducting extensive research around a number of candidates. The 45-year-old, who led Feyenoord to the 2022-23 Eredivisie title, has emerged as a candidate who fits Liverpool's criteria. Feyenoord have won the Dutch Cup this season and are second in the Eredivisie. The decision to appoint Slot has not been made but he has become a strong candidate to succeed Klopp. He was linked with Leeds United after they sacked manager Jesse Marsch, while Slot also ruled himself out of contention for the Tottenham Hotspur job last summer before Ange Postecoglou took over. Slot then extended his contract with Feyenoord until 2026.
April 24, 20241 yr Author Arne Slot appears to fit the mould of a "Head Coach" whose priority is on the training pitch, which Liverpool want, rather than a manager in their new structure lead by Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes. [@JBurtTelegraph]
April 24, 20241 yr Author Liverpool are set to open talks with Feyenoord on Wednesday over manager Arne Slot as they search for Jurgen Klopp's successor. Klopp announced in January he would leave Anfield at the end of the season and the Reds have been conducting extensive research around a number of candidates. Slot, who led Feyenoord to the 2022-23 Eredivisie title, has emerged as a candidate who fits Liverpool's criteria.
April 24, 20241 yr Author What do you think went wrong for Liverpool tonight? Certainly didn't see this result coming.
April 24, 20241 yr Oh well a fickle end to the Klopp era. I always thought the title was a stretch too far for us even in January team when we got decimiated with injuries and it proved to be that way. We've had too many players in poor form at the same time and the FA Cup loss and league draw at Old Trafford derailed our season. We've not been right since that FA Cup defeat. The Everton game today reminded me of many games last season when we were in absolute torrid form. It wasn't the reason we lost today, but special shout out to Madley the referee giving one of the worst refereeing displays I've seen this season, giving fouls for absolutely nothing all game. VAR is not the problem, the issue is our referees are absolutely terrible for the most part.
April 24, 20241 yr Darwin Nuñez challenging Nicolas Jackson for worst finisher in the league doesn't help.
April 24, 20241 yr Author Nuñez would you keep him or not?? He has poor composure and decision making.
April 24, 20241 yr Darwin Nuñez challenging Nicolas Jackson for worst finisher in the league doesn't help. As well as Werner for Spurs. Well I guess as well as missing Liverpool win the title we also have to contend with another season of Evertonians in the premier league then.
April 25, 20241 yr Darwin Nuñez challenging Nicolas Jackson for worst finisher in the league doesn't help. He makes a lot of the chances for himself, but he's massively out of form at the moment. 6 weeks ago he looked like he might turn in to a monster and now he's turned in to how he was a year ago. Our whole attack if massively out of form. I think a lot of it is the mental toll to be honest. Our XG is fairly decent at the moment, but the last few weeks we are really struggling to finish chances. Like I say, football is a lot about luck and we've been on the wrong side a lot this season. Another game and we get a 90th minute penalty against City, bury that and I think Liverpool win the league fairly comfortably. Instead, we can't finish our dinner and have been beaten 3 times in April  Feels a lot like 2021 where nothing goes our way.
April 25, 20241 yr Author Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk questioned his side's desire to win the Premier League after a damaging defeat against Merseyside rivals Everton. With four games left, Liverpool are now hoping for slip-ups from leaders Arsenal, who lie three points clear, and champions Manchester City. Defeat at Goodison Park was their second in three games as their season threatens to peter out. "Do they really want to win the league?" asked Van Dijk. Goals in each half from defender Jarrad Branthwaite and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin set the Toffees on their way to their first home victory in the league over Liverpool since October 2010. It was another setback after being beaten 1-0 at home by Crystal Palace 10 days ago as they missed the opportunity to go back level on points with the Gunners. A scathing Van Dijk told Sky Sports: "If you play like this overall in the game and not win any challenges and give the referee an opportunity to give a free-kick away then we have no chance to win the title. "Very disappointed in so many ways. Everyone has to look in the mirror and look at their own performance and think if they gave everything. "It is a tough one and obviously we have to do better against a side near the relegation [positions]it is time to focus. "If you play like today we have no chance to consider ourselves in the title race."
