Welcome Buzzjack to the Steps 'Platinum Collection' rate. This latest greatest hits collection is a celebration of their 25 years in the music industry. After holding a vote as to what people on here wanted this or a singles rate, the votes were a landslide for this & I couldn't be more thrilled. There's 39 songs on the tracklist & an extra one i included which was only on one of the solo editions of the album, but people wanted it on & so now we have 40 tracks taking part, 33 of which are singles & 7 fan-fave album tracks. That first disc is almost completely flawless. Hard 2 Forget doesn't stand up to the rest of it for me and Better The Devil You Know - while perfectly decent - is not as good as Kylie's original. And I quite often prefer Steps covers to the originals.

 

Tears on the Dancefloor was such a GREAT comeback album, three amazing singles. For what it's worth, One For Sorrow and Story Of A Heart were also in the mix for my 11, with Neon Blue and Something In Your Eyes also worthy of an 11.

I'll never understand what is apparently so bad about 'A Hundred Years of Winter'. Plus that remix is a bop! Oh well.

It'll be interesting to see how different this is to the Ultimate 25 we did a few months back. I presume we'll have more people take part in this but I wonder how similar the results will be.
