August 31, 20223 yr looking at the figures Elton & Brit could easily end up at #5, OneRep should be #3 at the rate they're going
August 31, 20223 yr Brilliant for Elton and Britney to be this high in its first week. Edited August 31, 20223 yr by IANMUSIC24
August 31, 20223 yr https://www.musicweek.com/labels/read/why-t...um-sales/086441 Funnily enough, there’s a Music Week article out today about Two Door Cinema Club & their label not wanting to chase high first-week sales anymore, and instead making the album campaign longer. “They've managed to bank a huge amount of amazing music, it was more about how we strategically get that out into the market over a long elongated campaign, alongside the live campaign.” “There are some campaigns where the multi-formatting is just becoming slightly obscene. There’s a huge amount of cassettes, CDs and plastic.”
August 31, 20223 yr Wow, really was not expecting such huge sales for Muse! I like the album but I had the sense that people were caring about them less and less the last few albums. I know WOTP has been very well received by critics though, so I guess that goes some way to explaining the reversal of their sales decline. https://www.musicweek.com/labels/read/why-t...um-sales/086441 Funnily enough, there’s a Music Week article out today about Two Door Cinema Club & their label not wanting to chase high first-week sales anymore, and instead making the album campaign longer. I can't see how a fanbase-heavy band like TDCC can manage a long album campaign though?
September 1, 20223 yr I can't see how a fanbase-heavy band like TDCC can manage a long album campaign though? Their answers to that are in the article! But I thought the most interesting point was that all the in-store shows and signings that artists announce with their #1 push can be quite costly! And they often sacrifice ticket buyers for their actual tour shows to do so.
September 1, 20223 yr but do they have any fanbase to do multi buying? don't think so. Their last album sold just under 10k, so it wouldn’t surprise me.
September 1, 20223 yr anyone know where Demi is?... Demi's already out of the top 100 as of Tuesday's update on the OCC website
September 1, 20223 yr LOL at the comment that people actually going out to shops or ordering online is FAKE SALES whereas the same people playing the same tracks week after week and getting both singles "sales" and album "sales" out of it is not fake sales, and artificially halving ratios on "old" tracks, or having other people pick playlists of tracks they want to plug is not chart manipulation. A bit like I get the latest Amazon's latest mundane Xmas exclusive bunged upfront in amongst classic Xmas tunes when I tell Alexa to play xmas songs and it ends up charting based on not that much demand actually
September 1, 20223 yr Interestingly the new Panic At The Disco album is set to drop out of the top 100 after just one week too, quite the fall considering his last one spent 46 weeks there.
September 1, 20223 yr I can’t see them asking for a reset, they’re not going to want that overshadowing the new album. I don't see how it would hurt them in anyway. This happened to Adele, she had a song from her 1st album become a hit a few months before she released her 2nd album and it became one of the most successful albums of all time.
September 1, 20223 yr Not sure if they were there on Friday but Britney/Elton and David/Bebe have been added to Hot Hits UK
September 1, 20223 yr Album chart all ways been wired most new album drop out top 100 after 2 week Even if goes top 10. Old album donkeys ago stay in long time normal greatest hits still got bruno Mars old album still around find wired. So don’t think album are popular since streaming can just play song like from album not like old days had buy album
September 1, 20223 yr Not sure if they were there on Friday but Britney/Elton and David/Bebe have been added to Hot Hits UK Was always day since day 1 first as track #30, then on Tue it was moved up to track #23

You can only ask for a reset for you currently promoted single, which is Mirrorball obviously the lead from the new album not their 15 year old song :D
September 1, 20223 yr Will yungblud get number 1 next week Definitely, there isn’t any competition either.
