Well we have had a fair few "I never saw them peaking that high again" moments over the past few years so never say never...

the bizarre thing is that the Guetta song is 3/4 yers old I think

not sure why they'v been sitting on this one for so long

Eliza reposted someone saying 80 sales off #1 on her Instagram stories

If that’s true I think she’ll get it

5 years old now! He first played it live in 2017.

My best guess is that they just decided to not release it cos in 2018 Guetta had just put out another Bebe Rexha collab "Say My Name", which wasn't a UK hit but rather big worldwide cos it also featured J Balvin when he was hot

It's only got belatedly released cos of Bebe making it go viral on TikTok

Proves my point last week that the charts are manipulated with all these ridiculous signed CDs and bundles just to get a fake number one

Steps down to number 20 at least

Madonna at 17

Aitch at 31

So as I knew, Steps dropping like a stone with no longevity 😂😂😂😂😂

As long as you lot are happy living in fake land. I've proved my point so I'll log out and maybe log back in when I see more fakeness 😂

I mean I’d much prefer a Steps album number one to a Ladbaby Xmas number one (crime against music)

3 Elton John & Britney Spears - Hold Me Closer *

8 David Guetta & Bebe Rexha - I'm Good (Blue) *

36 DJ Khaled feat. Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, JAY-Z, John Legend & Fridayy - GOD DID *

38 Bugzy Malone & MIST - Energy *

Additional new entries outside the top 40:

42 Lil Tjay - Beat the Odds

44 D-Block Europe - Man In the Mirror

63 Rema - Calm Down

64 DJ Khaled feat. Future & SZA - Beautiful

66 Katie Gregson-MacLeod - Complex

96 Muse - You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween

before anyone else asks, the Rema song is in the chart cos of a Selena Gomez remix that got released this week.

also, good to see that we're seemingly past the point where anything DBE farts out goes top 40...

Expect the same to happen to Muse next week too.

No one cares. First week sales are usually going to be an artist’s biggest sales week. Not sure why you expect artists about 25 and 40 years into their career to be picking up enough new fans with every release (compilations at that!) to keep them afloat in the charts. I don’t know why you’re on a chart forum when you clearly have no idea how it works.

I think everyone understands how the album chart works but it’s difficult to see why anyone would be happy with it.

I yearn for the 2000s when album charts meant something.

he removed it from '7' album tracklist 5 years ago, then played at his residence in ibiza and ppl liked it a lot and tiktok started it all so he decided to release...

It's all just depending upon which lens you choose to look at it from - in this format both Britney and Kylie started their careers at the end of a decade which meant that they had 2 decades done within a couple of years.

Kylie spans 15 years

Britney spans 14 years

Madonna spans 23 years

Not intending this to discredit Britney either, it would be an achievement to get another #1 23 years into her career regardless but terming it as 'four decades' makes it sound like it's almost 40 years when the reality is much smaller.

Cher spans 33 years. B-)

Most albums drop a lot in their second week, a very original observation there x

I'm a little surprised their last single did so poorly tbh but certainly not complaining lol - it was awful but at least awful in a different way to how their songs usually are, it was their attempt at a dance song but they were clearly taking notes from Drake on making it as dull as possible

Aside, this post reminded me I forgot to check the albums top 100 yesterday - hooray for J.I.D indeed sneaking in at #56, should be almost entirely streaming based of course so hopefully safe to stay top 100 for the week if not even rising a little bit by Friday. And another one of my song contest artists also registering in the top 100 too, my recent Unknown Pleasures act The Lounge Society at #87, didn't realise they'd dropped an album so that was a nice surprise! They'll almost certainly drop out though.

And Kate Bush spans 44...

Any info on where steps are couldnt' see them in that tuesday update! Definitely out of the top 10 though

20 according to the link

And Kate Bush spans 44...

Not really. RUTH isn't a new release.
