8.7k on first update, so she’s done it with ease! :)

For sure with ease :yahoo:

I included the 8.7k in the 294,000 but she’ll definitely do another 6k this week :)

4th week and platinum!

It's been on their website since pre-orders, I assume they got limited stock as it sold out quickly. I got my copy in Rough Trade East in London so they're floating about!
That's the CD version I got last month and I've still not got around to hearing Hits Different :o
I bought it... just so I can have 'Hits Different' lmao. Omg.

Honestly I was contemplating it. Holding out right now. Just praying it gets released for download before I crack

This album has honestly grown to be one of my favourites of hers. Midnight Rain, Question…?, Paris and Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve are my go tos.

Anti Hero spends its 5th week at #1

Midnights back at #2

Paris has really grown on me. Listening to it a lot atm

Have finally listened to this album today - it's a mixed bag, definitely nowhere near as good as 'folklore' and 'evermore' for me (not that I expected it to be) but it has its moments.

I need to give some love to 'Labyrinth' which is an absolute beauty and the one song there that does contend with the highs of those last 2 albums. I'm not sure how much of a hot take that is, been a while since I read the initial reactions to the album here. Gives me 'epiphany' vibes. (edit: I see Jonjo said the same thing, some rare common ground *.*)

From the rest of the main album my other big immediate faves are 'Snow On The Beach', 'You're On Your Own, Kid' and 'Mastermind', while 'Midnight Rain' was also a very intriguing first listen that I think will grow on me more (the vocal effect is definitely a bold choice but I thiiink it works and it has one of the stronger melodies on the album), and 'Anti-Hero' I had already heard a few times to give it the chance to grow on me after finding it a little mid on first listen (it's still nowhere near my favourite but I do like it now). 'Maroon' and 'Bejeweled' were also decent and can see them being growers too. The rest ranges from mid to cringe (i.e. 'Vigilante Shit' and 'Karma'). Really not getting why 'Lavender Haze' has remained one of the most popular songs on the album, it's quite a nothing of a song - obviously with it being track 1 I get the initial success but I wish it had given way for 'You're On Your Own, Kid'.

The 3am tracks are a little more consistent, I am a fan of 4/7 of them ('Bigger Than The Whole Sky' is my fave, probably my 2nd fave on the album overall, and also really liking 'Dear Reader', 'Would've, Could've, Should've' and 'The Great War'), and 2 of the other 3 are also decent and also potential growers, but conversely it also has the worst song on the album in 'Paris' which was really trying to wake up my inner Taylor hater in the midst of a bunch of otherwise lovely songs.

mid to cringe ('Karma').

'Lavender Haze', it's quite a nothing of a song

Wrong wrong wrong so very very wrong :teresa:

After having this album on repeat for a few weeks my favourite tracks are definitely Karma, Midnight Rain, Anti-Hero, Lavender Haze and Bigger Than The Whole Sky.

My personal least favourites would have to be Sweet Nothing, Mastermind and Dear Reader.

Overall though I think this is a really strong album.

Original studio albums in order of ratings on metacritic:

Folklore: 88 & 9.0

Evermore: 85 & 8.9

Midnights: 85 & 8.3

Lover: 79 & 8.4

Speak Now: 77 & 8.6

Red: 77 & 8.5

1989: 76 & 8.2

Fearless: 73 & 8.4

Taylor Swift: 67 & 8.7

Midnights coming out strongly amongst her albums. I’m surprised Lover is so high actually. She’s definitely gained credibility as an artist overtime.

Red TV: 91 & 9.0

Fearless TV: 82 & 8.9

TV versions received positively too. I think speak now TV is going to do well and will give a lot of new fans the chance to listen to its greatness in all its glory.

I slightly overlooked Sweet Nothing to start but can’t get enough of it now - such a beautiful song.

I’ve only just bought the album. I got the deluxe including the additional 3 tracks. Not impressed at all. Swearing and foul language in nearly every song. The songs are pretty average and not as good as most of her earlier stuff. I will be selling my copy on eBay as don’t want to listen to swearing in songs. Totally unnecessary and not something she ever did until recently. This has completely put me off supporting her as an artist again.

There is a clean CD of the standard version.

I thought the deluxe was clean as the photo on eBay didn’t have an explicit lyrics sticker until it arrived and the sticker warning was on it. Problem is you can still tell the bits where the swearing is muted out.

I wouldn’t buy the album again as didn’t really like it.
